Hi guys

I haven't been on the forums in a while so sorry if this has been asked, I did a search and couldn't find another thread with this problem.

The GT Academy 2012 in my country ended 1 December 2012, the prize collection period is 18 December 2012 - 31 January 2013, but nothing is showing up in my 'Gifts' tab on Gran Turismo 5.

I know all the cars probably won't show up at once but it's been more than 2 weeks and I haven't received a single car yet. I still have the GT Academy download as well as my save game and I cleared all the stages with gold trophies.

Anyone ever experienced this? How long into the collection period can you normally get your cars?

Thanks

I haven't either, although I'm actually from the UK and just played for the prizes. In the Academy for my country, I didn't get all of the prizes for some reason.

From what I'm finding from other forums, you guys are already receiving your prizes.

This is what it says on the website

* Please note that the arrival timing of the prizes may vary slightly from user to user.
* Please ensure to receive your prizes during the following time period. If you do not start your Gran Turismo 5 game within the following dates, any uncollected prizes will become invalid.
Prize Collection Period: 18 December, 2012 – 31 January, 2013

Though I doubt "Slightly" is a couple weeks difference. I'm not sure what's happening there..

There is a difference between receive prizes and collecting prizes.

I believe you had to log on to GT5 during the fortnight after they started sending them out. See below for dates. If you didn't log on then, you cannot receive them now.

Code:
Distribution Start Date	Required Achievement	Gift
July 4	5 Gold Trophies in Round 1	Nissan Leaf G (GT Academy) '11
July 11	5 Gold Trophies in Round 2	Nissan SILVIA spec-R AERO (GT Academy) '02
July 18	5 Gold Trophies in Round 3	Nissan SKYLINE GT-R V・spec II (GT Academy) '94
July 25	5 Gold Trophies in Round 4	Nissan 370Z (GT Academy) '08
Aug 1	5 Gold Trophies in Round 5	Nissan SKYLINE GT-R V・spec II Nür (GT Academy) '02
Aug 8	5 Gold Trophies in Round 6	Nissan GT-R Black edition (GT Academy) '12
Aug 15	5 Gold Trophies in Round 7	Nissan GT-R Black edition Tuned Car (GT Academy) '12
Aug 22	5 Gold Trophies in Round 8	Nissan 370Z Tuned Car (GT Academy) '08
Aug 29	Clear all 8 rounds with a Bronze Trophy or better	Special "GT Academy 2012" Racing Gear

The 31/1/2013 date is for cars that have still have to be collected from your gifts list, like in the following picture.

Weren't those dates for the original GT Academy? I thought South Africa had another GT Academy with its own prizes.

The collection date listed on the site is from the 18th of December, which is definitely past the dates you've listed. Although they do share the same cutoff date it seems.

However I can't seem to find anything on what the time frame is for when the South Africa GT Academy participants can "receive" their cars.

Ah, didn't realise he was talking about the South African Academy.

How can it be that you had to log on within two weeks after they started sending them out? This was never mentioned anywhere on their site, and I was away on holiday and just got back so I couldn't log on. It seems really unfair to give a collection period of 6 weeks and then not tell you that you have to log in within the first 2 weeks?

I'm not sure, I don't really think it's fair either but those seem to be the rules.

If you didn't make it in time that would explain why you're not getting them when other people seem to be. I'm really sorry =/

I've been logging into gt5 regularly since the South African Academy event finished. Had all golds. But, still no prizes...

Could well be a delay in the system then.
You still have 25 days to receive them so it's not worth stressing over just yet. Could be worth getting in contact with sony support over though, but how much use that will be is questionable at best

Just got my cars :gtpflag:

So it seems not logging in within 2 weeks after the end of the Academy had no effect on the prize collection, thank goodness

I thought that would be the case, happy for your sake that I was right :)

Still peculiar that you got your cars a fair bit after everyone else but I'm happy for you none the less, I was genuinely worried about you not getting them 👍
