Some cars vibrate...Why?

As the subject suggests, why is it that some cars in GT3 cause the dual shock controller to Vibrate? For example, the Nissan R32 V spec and the R32 S Tune... They dont vibrate too much but i do notice it. There were some other cars that also vibrate but i cant remember which ones.

I thought that it may have been a result of some setting that i applied to the car, but some cars vibrate even when they are left stock.

I have seen some people talk about the same topic on here before but i did not manage to find anything when i did a search on it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Probably because of the torque (sp?) or whatever you call it. Skylines push you back in the seat in real life so i've always thought that the vibrating is caused by the power of the engine pulling the car.

:/ Hard to explain but i know what i mean. :D

The Integra Type R rattles the hell out of my hands, I've fiddled around with the suspension a couple times and made it a little better, but it's still too twitchy for my likes.

Hmm it's strange why they make the R32 vibrate and not other high perofrmance cars. EVO's abd WRX's dont vibrate even if they have high HP.

It kinda sucks really, i mean the R32 is one of my favourite cars in the game and for some reason it frekon vibrates:banghead:

I mean i don't really think it's a setting because it vibrates even when it is left stock. I have tried different tracks as well, so it's not the roads surface causing this problem.

When i am drifting i like my cars to run very smooth. Having the Dual shock controller vibrate when i am using the R32 GTR to drift annoys me.

I just wanna know if there is a reason for this and if there is a way to stop the car behaving in this manner.

Mustang-man:

If this is the case then this would occur with every car that had high HP and high Torque. A skyline is not the only car that would force you back into your seat when you punch the gas down. A mustang SVT would do the same i imagen.

It's to simulate torque steer in high-power FWD or AWD cars.

Isn't it true that DS2 simulates what's happening in the front wheels. So it's obvious that FF shakes more than FR, in real life too. It isn't anything about Skylines ultraüüber torque

Hey, I can feel "power vibrations" via the steering wheel in some FF cars IRL, so I consider that to be realistic. Now, it depends on how "soft" your steering system is. If it's a powerful power steering that takes one finger to turn the wheel, you may not feel it, but if its a car with steering "hardwired to your brain", you get feedback as quickly as you can think turn to rotate the car, and with greater magnitude.

in some cars with front engines i think it vibrates when you get into (or near) the red zone RPMS as well.

whatever

Ok, thanks for your views.

Still sucks that the r32 vibrates and EVO's and REX's dont. The fact that some cars vibrate dosn't really bother me, i mean, you feel the power of the car more when you hammer through the gears. It's just a wonder why the R32 vibrates and not other 4WD drive cars.

Anyhoot, thanks for your advice

cheers

Hmm, come to think of it... i wonder what would happen if i change to sims or super soft's. I haven't tried that yet.

I'll try it tonight.

Yes i think it will too but i have to try something. Any ideas on how to smooth vibrating cars out a little? Maybe damper settings? Spring rate? stabs?

Maybe it has something to do with aerodynamics of the car (unavoidable with some bodys)? Bad wind tunneling perhaps? Who knows. *shrugs* Could be, a bad suspension (strut's, shocks, sway bars), to much torque, set of tires, or a combonation of things. I've noticed this too though with some cars,in GT3.

Hmm, i doubt is has much to do with aerodynamics. From my experience cars are vibrating from takeoff, so wind going over the car at low speed wouldn't have all that much effect i imagen.

It might however be something to do with high torque, i really dont know... i just wanna find out a way to make cars not vibrate.

its a mixture of suspension, the road surface (some tracks have a lower surface grade), the power and the setup FR, FF, etc

OK, here's where I get a bit more technical (if I'm worng say so)...

The slight vibarations you feel in the wheel on the road are many things. First, you are feeling the tread of the tire. Very knobby tread scrubs more than very slick tread.

Second, in front and (some) all/4-wheel-drives, you are feeling tire adhesion to the road from acceleration.

Third, when rounding corners hard, your vibrations are (again) the lateral tire adhesion to the road.

Finally, you may be feeling the roughness of a bumpy potholey road! :D

Hey heres my theory... Someone metioned a Integra being real unstable and twitcy. Do you ahve it completely modified. If so i think that the car is a piece of ****. In real life and in the game. NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE WHO HAS ONE , I JSUT DONT LIKE THEM. ANYWAY,, if you take a sort of crappy car like that and stick a 400hp engine in it then its bound to be shaky. It like puting a monster truck engine in a dirtbike,, well sort of.

There aren't any. It. Is. Programmed. Into. The Game. To. Simulate. Torque. Steer.

Most of the higher-power FWD cars vibrate. If it bugs you that much, turn it off or reduce the horsepower of the car you're driving.

Well, if your in the unmodified Sprinter Trueno and the controller is vibrating like mad, the way to stop it is to GET OFF THE BEEPING GRASS!!!

Either my fully modded and tuned Mustang Cobra R or Camaro SS vibrate I don't remember which.

I just thought it was because I have the suspension so dayum stiff. :) Of course they produce their share of sink-you-into-your-seat torque too. But my R34 has really stiff suspension and it doesn't vibrate. Weird.

I think it's mostly road conditions combined with suspension.
