It happened yesterday, driving a BMW Z4 GT3 '11 for ia-Dream car championship, that max speed was stuck at 180 km/h ... the 4th gear was not responding properly ... (the 5th and 6th gear even not responding anymore) ... this happened after buying a new turbo kit for the car

I stopped the car ... wasn't able to get it move anymore .....
Restoring default setting for the car (not using the turbo kit ...) didn't make it any better

I'm using L1 ... gear down, L2 ... breaking, R1 ... gear up, R2 ... acceleration
I tried the default controller setting (x for acceleration ...) ... everything's working fine.
Back to my setting ... same problem as before

Weird thing is, since yesterday the same problem affecting other cars i'm driving (without having changed anything on this cars) ...

Anyone please can heeeeelp me out of this ...... situation?

Thanx in advance ...

Geeze, that sounds more like an infestation than a bug. Have you hacked your game data or anything like that? I'm not sure if the 1337 kids are doing that BS yet.

Are any of those cars manually power restricted per the power settings?

It sounds like it might be related to a bug I've seen. I gave my McLaren F1 GTR base model some level of N/A tuning to raise the power, and then restricted the power 30-40hp to get it to a net increase of 50-60hp. Bone stock, the car charged right to redline in 6th gear, maybe 210mph? With this extra 50-60hp (and same gearing of course) I could barely crack 190. Seemed like using the power restrictor function caused the problem but I forgot to set it back to stock or otherwise play around with it.

The only things I could think for you to do:

1. Back up game save, delete all game data, reinstall/update
2. Wait for the next game update and cross your fingers that it fixes it

I think it is a bug, I was in a Nascar room the other day and some one said that their car would stop at 6,000 rpm in 4th gear even though their is 12,000 rpm on those cars.

Oh MAN. Another thought - I have been having MAJOR problems that I've attributed to my controller.

My DS3 L1 and R1 buttons will stop working on the menus, and then in the race, my car will apply full throttle constantly until I turn off the controller. I use a G27 wheel, so I've been making due without it.. don't feel like buying a new one.

The problem seemed to coincide with the one time I dropped my controller, so I figured something broke inside it. But that hasn't sat right with me because of how intermittent it is, and the fact that controller works OK most everywhere else...

This could be your problem as well. Gonna try it with GT5, lol, BRB.

Wow. So GT6 is definitely having problems with my DS3, and there is nothing wrong with the controller.

I went and played a few minutes of GT5 with my DS3, it worked fine. Used my G27 wheel with the DS3 turned on, no problems at all.

Went back to GT6, DS3 worked OK, but then once I plugged in my wheel, DS3 went crazy (full throttle, buttons not working etc.) Then, with the wheel unplugged the DS3 was still messed up after restarting it :boggled:

Play around with restating the controller, using it in a different game and coming back to GT6, etc.

First of all, thank's for all your input and help :) ...

Indeed, it seemed to be a DS3-problem ... (a my DS3-problem)

First, I switched to gt5 ... no problems there ... hmmm ... cool ...
Back to gt6, same problem as before (what the ...)
Borrowed a friends DS3, just to check ... surprise ... gears responding properly at gt6 (!?)

Don't know where exactly the problem is (my controller's working fine with other games) ... but, .....

... at last, I solved my gt6-problem, simply buying a new DS3 (which is working fine, by now) ...

... nevertheless, somehow I'm not feeling that satisfied 'bout it ..... hmmm ...
