This site gives the following, supposedly confirmed, information:
-The new logitech wheel has a shift lever as opposed to button shifting.
-The used-car option will be in GT4.
-The online play will have six? rather than eight cars as stated in many other sources.
-There will be classic-style cars and some type of museum mode.
-Significant improvements to AI have been made.
-New tuning options will be availabe that represent "current trends."

I wonder if this means you will be able to add body kits and such? :confused:

Especially impressive is the addition of realtime 3D paddocks, pit crews, and spectators to the game, so a real pit crew works on your Le Mans racer while a crowd of animating fans cheers your perfect rally-car drifts.

YES!!! :D I wonder if they will improve the tire wear so Super-Softs don't wear out in 5 laps :rolleyes: and have fuel consumption! :confused: :eek:

Sony promises it'll be out this winter, if not necessarily in time for Christmas.

If there was a tire in real life that provided as much traction as super softs, I doubt they would last 1 lap. I hope they give different t types of sim tires though that would be cool, or maybe all the tires will be sim tires this time :) .

I hope not. If you want to play with body kits, go get TXR0. GT is for serious drivers only.
 
Are you talking about the racing modifications like from GT2?

I had that, and it sucked, I don't see why it would not be for "serious drivers only" as you claim, so what if you can add some cosmetic changes to the cars, if you think that's fake or whatever, go cry.
 
Doubt there will be any mods in GT4, would alter the characteristics of any given car from what the maker PD intended.. Same applies to the damage feature some want.. Thats pointless to have, consider your in an hot race near the finish only to be taken out by an AI car due to damage... Does not compute.
 
Me hopes he didn't mean NOS with "current trends", that would ruin a lot.
 
Maybe they meant actual name brand parts, like if you have a Honda, you can get a Mugen ECU, Spoon balanced pistons, AEM fuel rail, NGK Iridium spark plugs, DC Sports headers, Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, Brembo brakes, Bridgestone tires, stuff like that maybe? :confused:
 
I wouldnt mind having a racing modification. For some cars, it looks really cool. N20 would definitely NOT be in the game, as nitrous is not legal in gran touring racing circuits.
 
I don't want to see the race mods come back, if only because it will spwan 10,000 "dude the R34 with the Decepticons body kit and the Yamato Super Starblazers wing looks SOOOOOOOOOOOO SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"-type posts/threads.

Used cars will be cool... but not really necessary, unless they also include a higher chance of mechanical trouble, which they won't.

The new Logitech wheel looks like an ugly black Momo, and the shifter is not an H-pattern type, it's a sequential Touring Car/WRC up-down type. It looks not bad, though. It does let you turn it 2.5 turns lock-to-lock, which could be really cool. Here's the new wheel.

New AI is highest on my list. Actual pit crew is far and away the lowest. I'd would ten times rather have a real in-cr view than some stupid animated pit crew I'm only going to see for 15 seconds at a time once or twice in some races.
 
In one of the videos I saw, they had the pit crew working on the GT40, and they were refuelling it! Does this mean that fuel consumption will be in the game? :eek:

Amen Brotha! lol. Im tired of these wannabe micheal andretti's complaining that body kits are so dumb. If you dont like it dont put em on your car. now go cry some more. :sly:
