some noobie questions

hi, im not only new to grand turismo but also the fourms, so please bear with me :dopey: I noticed int most turns my car wheels start to make screching sounds, even at low speeds. unfortunaity i dont have a steering wheel or cockpit , im just using the ps2 thumb stick controller. In order to make good steering do i need a wheel? or am i just not doing somthing wrong. Also can the driving aids in grand turismo mode be taken of? if sho could you tell me how please. :)
 
get get the sound becouse u go too much speed and turn the wheels to quickly..

I use the dual shock to and I don´t get the sound.. sure I get it when I drift but then I do it on purpose..

You can switch the driving aids off in each car's settings. The good thing is that you can have different aids for different cars, the bad thing is that you have to adjust every car separately. They are not necessarily a bad thing, I'm a GT veteran since 1998 and I still use some driving aids on some cars.
 
drive aids are good for setting up the car for drifting and on fast cars like the minolta (witch u proberly haven´t got yet) just to keep it on the track in A-spec mode
 
but some cars are real fun without drive-aids. like the charger or the old GTO or some awd-cars with the force on the rear.....

i think you're pressing on the gas too much, since in GT4 the throttle and brakes are pressure sensitive try to lightly press the gass when u turn to avoid oversteering badly..

also in your home just press start, it will open up the settings menu for your car, then just turn off driving aids there, the menu is pretty straightforward so you can just explore there
