Hey all

I was playing GT5 just 1 hour ago and I was in an online room when someone started sending messages using my name, things like "I'm away for a wa##", and it wasn't a walk. Whats happening here ? Has my account been hacked, exploit, WTF ? Anyone else had this ?

Cheers

Mark

No , they put your name as if was written by you then

line break
line break
line break
line break
...

until they get to a point when other players can't see their name., then they write supid things :dunce:

(I admit i'v done it a lot when I was bored or sad) :p

It's just using a trick in the chat window involving lots of white space IIRC, don't worry about it. You haven't been hacked.

Funny since launch. Endless threads from endless victims, lol.

I hate to be an ass, but it's funny as 🤬 when people think they've been "hacked" after something as simple as this .

Really shows how society works these days...

Meh. Just sounds like people that don't understand how things work. I see it on Facebook all the time, with old people posting stuff in a panic, terrified that they're being hacked all the time because they don't understand how things work, why they work the way they work, what's realistic, and what is implausible. I was just in a thread not too long ago where people were discussing having a future Gran Turismo game with whole states, nations, or even the world fully rendered, neglecting to think of the yottabytes of information that would be required to do so and the unimaginable amount of hours it would take rendering all that in detail.

*goes to Facebook*

*sees someone's post reading "OMG I've been hacked! Someone keeps posting stuff to my wall and it isn't me!"*

*explains "No, you accepted an app and that app is posting that stuff. Nobody hacked into your Facebook."*

*puts a gun in my mouth*
