Someone trying to get into my account?

When I got hom from work today I found in my email this message:

The359,

Your account on GTP Forums has been locked because someone has tried to log into the account with the wrong password more than 5 times. You will be able to attempt to log in again in another 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 67.166.216.177

Considering I wasn't home, nor do I believe that is my IP address, who the heck was doing this?
 
Two possible answers I say:

Someone who doesn't like you on GTP.
or
A dumb Trojan that has gone wrong.

I'd say the first one is probably what has happened. Do you have anyone on your ignore list?

EDIT: Know anyone in Lewisville, Texas of longitude -97.0188 and latitude 33.0502?

I only have 2 people on my ignore list, and I doubt JohnBM01 would stoop this low :p . The other doesn't seem like to do it now either.

And no I can't think off hand of anyone from Texas.
 
I've having trouble finding the user... the only thing the CP's dug up is that it's a Comcast account, which hardly helps. Of course, whoever tried to do that obviously had to log out of their account before trying to get into yours, so that doesn't make things any easier.
 
359, is there anyone else you know that hates you more than Dirt? If you say these things, i'm sure it'll give the mods a easier search.

More likely, it could be someone who doesn't particurly like The359, or was really dumb and bored. :irked:

I think its this.

Cause I do see him posting arrogant posts at times and he coulda hit the wrong person at the wrong time.
 
Actually, 67.166.216.177 was an address used to create two new accounts on July 25, 2004: da king and fahbulous, neither of whom have posted. Oddly enough, both accounts have you, The359, listed as the member who referred them. Perhaps you invited someone to join the site and they thought they were supposed to log in to your account?
 
Hmmm....

I do recall someone messaging me about my car list a few days ago, saying they were from some big SVT Forum. It's possible they signed up because of me. And it certainly is possible they tried to log into my account by mistake, but the fact that they did it 5 times in a row seems odd...

Very odd. In what form did they message you? MSN Messenger?
