Something for the future of this site?

If I get my hopes up too high or if I put this in the wrong section then I apologize for doing so, and please feel free to redirect this thread to where it belongs,

:idea:Yet here's a little suggestion I conjured up while reading the 10 years celebration post:

What about an added function to GT5 or 6 to upload pictures and video's directly to this forum? Or what about integrating parts of the forum directly into a GT game? That inside the game, you can talk to members of the forum, invite people there to race together? I think that would be a great addition to bridge the gap between the the actual forum and the game itself!

Would make for some great ingame feedback and support by fellow GT players?

I know a system like this would indeed be very complex to create and might go beyond what this site is meant for, but I think it would be great!

So, what do you think of this?

It would be good, but GTPlanet has no links with Polyphony Digital other than the same game so it wouldn't happen. 👍

Oh, nothing would make me happier than this sort of functionality! However - make no mistake about it - Sony is only interested in promoting their own online properties and communities. The fact they have no control over what is said or posted here only further reduces their interest in supporting the site. There is a reason the "Forums" link on gran-turismo.com points to the official PlayStation community message boards - not here.

Yeah shame really,

People are always asking what GT5 has over other racing games, well with something like this they would take costumer feedback to a whole new level.

Would this not be slightly more of a possibility since the PS3 was cracked?

It is too bad too, as GTPlanet is a much bigger accumulation of knowledge on the world of Gran Turismo than the Offical PlayStation community message boards.

Yes, though that would probably require even more work than it took to Hotz crack the console. You'd have to decompile the game's source code on disc, reverse engineer it to figure out how to add functionality, and then (illegally) re-distribute the modified version of the game. :scared:

Then after doing all that, if you could even do it, you still couldn't risk hosting any of it here as Sony would probably try to sue you.

While it was a nice idea, it is just that, an idea, one which will never happen.
