Sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere.

I was just watching the Top Gear Polar special and was thinking how great something like this would be in gt5. Target times to reach certain destinations using some of the cars and trucks in the game. I find myself rarely looking at the trucks and this would open them up to a new world.

Another great addition alongside this could be a hill climb event to make use of the pike peaks cars.

I dony feel this would take away from the realism in any way and could open up a different world of fun for the game.
 
So will we have James May as co-driver saying "When we get there i'm going to have me celebratory tin of spam" XD Seriously though it sounds like a very good idea
 
Haha yea... if we introduce the shotgun it will be competing with another certain game..
 
Point-to-point races over a large open map would be really cool. There'd be mountain ranges or ravines to navigate, and whatever route you take is a different level of difficulty.

Suggest it to Kaz for GT6, we might have a use for the trucks and Rally Raid cars then!!!
 
Sounds good but adding vast environments to GT will undoubtedly impact on other areas of the game such as framerate and overall graphical performance. A specific PD developed Dakar title would be nice though...

Kind of like that new NFS game...PD doesn't need to stoop.

No not at all, something similar to the expert rally special event. Open ended but with various terrain to navigate. If you haven't seen the Polar Special take a look, it will give you an idea of what I mean..

How does the open play degrade the frame-rate?
 
So a point to point rally?
 
Not exactly point to point. A little more open ended. That is just the closest thing that there is in the game but about 90% off the mark.
