Had a look around couldn't see it posted already (though I bet it probably is)

A 20-year-old has written off his dad's £275,000 Gumpert Apollo after taking it for a spin in Germany.

He lost control of the rear wheel drive supercar on a sharp bend near Brokdorf, just north of Hamburg.

After the crash the driver's door ended up 100ft (30m) away and the car was described as a "total loss".

The man was driving with a 19-year-old female passenger and both of them walked away from the accident with minor injuries.

Police are investigating whether he was speeding when he lost control of the car on the 50mph road.
I'm sure he'll be in daddy's bad books for a long time

Stupid boy.

A female on the passenger seat. Draw your conclusions about what was the cause of the accident. Guy wanting to impress girl.

this bit made me laugh also

I think its pretty obvious from the damage that he definity was doing more that 50mph...

Heard about that on the radio lol. thought they had no speed limit in germany

Only on certain motorways/highways/autobahn

On the car.:scared::ouch:
What a loss.
Well it's a car that is hard to drive, so a 20 year old driver may not have been the best idea

I can only imagine the tail-between-legs feeling and the dogma that guy is going to have to endure for the considerable future...

And those kinds of idiots will ensure that, one day, there will be a speed limit everywhere, including the Autobahn...

This reminds me of a story. My dad once got pulled over for taking a corner too fast. The officer told him he was driving like a teenager. My dad replied, "If that were the case, I'd have crashed." The cop laughed and let him go.

Anyway, it's nice to see that they survived and that there was a lesson learned. The risk-reward factor of trying to show your girlfriend how large your cojones are-- "Look, babe, you don't need a microscope!"-- is not worth it.

That looks more like a DeLorean after the crash.

But seriously, that's a lot of money he's choked on. And a lot of rarity too.

Doesn't a Gumpert generate tons of down-force, how the **** do you "lose control"?

have you driving anything with over 300hp or really light weight RWD car? It's easy to lose control if you've never driving a car like that, saw a kid lose control of an S2000 because he had no experience with RWD cars. I had my Z/28 try and get side ways on me when i first got it and that was only 323 rwhp.

Plus, it produces downforce at really high speed, aka 100+ mph. I'm guessing the kid was driving around 90-ish and didn't have much high-performance driving experience.
