We're all speed freaks here, so, i figure at least SOME of us have played a Sonic game.

If you pay attention to my screenname, you'll know which chara from the Sonic Universe it's based on. I'm really into Sonic: i've got a large number of fancharacters in my repitoire.

so, anyone else like Sonic?
 
I've not played Sonic games properly since the Megadrive. I played that all the time. :)

I have had a go at the newer ones on the Dreamcast and Xbox, but they will never be as good as the classic ones.

seems to be the sentiment. many have said that there hasn't been a proper Sonic game since "Sonic and Knuckles." still, we try and hold out hope. Sonic Rush for DS, though, seems to be a fairly good one.

By the way, CAMAROBOY69, any Sonic aficionado will tell you they're Power Rings, not Coins. You've been playing Mario too much! ;P

Anyone remember the old Sonic T.V. show? the one with Princess Sally?

Man, I miss that one.
 
Was an American show based on the comics done by Archie Comics, Inc., though I remember that there was a Japan-exclusive Anime, too, and then there's the current show, An Anime called "Sonic X," though most don't like that one...Re-Dubbed by 4Kids, who's not well respected in Anime circles.

Found some episodes of the show I was talking about earlier. (Referred to as SatAM by serious Sonic Fans.)

I played it on Sega Master System 2, but I was too young to be any good.

It's still shown over here I think, just at early hours on saturday and Sunday mornings. Maybe on FoxKids or whatever it is now.
 
I think about 3 months ago my girlfriend got the original Sonic the Hedghog game but it was on the XBOX or the PS2. It was on some disk with lots of old games.

Pretty sure they did, I remember watching some Sonic cartoons. They were great, lol. As for Sonic... the general concensus is that you are either a Sonic or Mario fan.
Me, gotta be sonic. Nothing about mario ever appealed to me at all, and the sonic characters were so unique and cool. Knuckles is a freakin god! 👍
 
Yeah, I watched them with my brother when I was young. We had them on video tape and watched them over and over. Shame, they must have been thrown in the bin when we grew out of it.

Again, the newer cartoon doesn't match the older one.

I believe the show that's on in America at this point in time is "Sonic X," which is an Anime, on 4KidsTV, which airs on the FOX network on saturday mornings. "SatAM" (The earlier show, In actuality titled "Sonic the Hedgehog,") aired on ABC on Saturday Mornings, Hence the word "SatAM" when fans talk about it.

As for the old school games, I have a game for my PS2, Sonic Mega Collection, which has most of the older 2D Sonic games, less Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix, as well as an archive of the Archie Sonic Comic covers, several other games, (including the Japanese Game Gear racer Sonic Drift...which I think Kaz should collaborate on to make a new version...) and digital manuals of all the games.

Yeah, I'm big into the Sonic scene.

(By the by, for those who didn't know, my screenname is based on one of the Sonic charas, Miles "Tails" Prower who debuted in Sonic 2.)

(also, "Sonic X" is based on the current Games, while "SatAM" is based on the Archie comics)
 
I have a little box that has 6 megadrive games on it. One of them is sonic. Great game.
 
damn, i forget about older games like that. sold my sega for a psone so i could play GT1 and GT2...guess i made a wiser decision in the end eh?

if anyone has a sega rom of sonic, let me know :)
 
I loved Sonic as a kid, yet like most people here, the newer titles leave me cold. My first copy of Sonic was on Game Gear, and I managed to accrue most of the Sonic series during the 16-Bit era. Like Jim, I have the Sonic Mega Collection for PS2, which is nice and all, though I find it tiresome to play for more than ten minutes. Bring on SNES classics on Revolution (GO) :dopey:

Knuckles is cool. Mario, on the other hand, is just plain gay.

Nah that is not true imo. I mean nobody forces you to like Mario, but most of these things like Mario VS Sonic, PS2 VS XBOX VS GAMECUBE etc have simple reasons : kids can only afford one console and then they hype their console.
From a neutral perspective nobody can deny the quality of Mario Jump'n Runs... so if you like Jump n' runs, there is almost no real reason not to like Mario games. Same goes for Sonic. Get over your prejudices and you'll have a great time with Mario games.
The most rediculous reason for not liking Mario is to say that it is childish. Only children can say sth like that imo.....( I didn't say that this is your argumentation Sting ;) ).

Ok, back to Sonic, I have : :

  • Sonic 1-3 (MegaDrive, each japanese original)
  • Sonic Adventure 1&2(anniversary edit. with sountrack and golden coin) ( Dreamcast, both japanese original)
  • Sonic Heroes for Game Cube (japanese original)
  • Sonic for Game Gear
  • Sonic 1&2 for Master System
  • Sonic Advance for GBA ( japanese original)

Although I really like the Mega Drive Sonic's, Sonic Adventure 1 is by far the best game of the series imo. Totally awesome.....

I'll agree with that. I have both my Genesis (ver3) and an N64. I enjoy both Sonic and Mario...though, I really like Starfox, too

on the other hand, i'd at least like to see a certian former Girlfriend of Sonic's return to the series...
