My son has the 3000 PSP. Got it for Christmas last year. He said the screen wont come on anymore. I asked him if it was fully charged and he said he didn't know. It's charging as I type.

If it's not a drained battery, what could it else be and what's the fix? What's the cost? What are the usual signs of something more severe than a bad screen.

Note: I imagine the LED light went out and needs to be replaced. Just curious how often this happens and how can I fix it myself, if possible.

When you switch it on does the mem. stick light, the orange one on the left, flash? Also is the power light on the right green?
If neither of those happens it may be deeper than a broken screen. As for fixing the screen if it is broken, I haven't a clue :P

Sorry it took so long to respond, yes, he said everything should work. In fact, the sound works, he just can't see what he's doing. The screen is obviously the faulty part.

I checked with Sony, and they'll fix the screen for $65 and the cost of shipping. Since he broke it, though he's blaming his cousins, he has to pay to get it fixed. That way he'll learn to take better care of it.
