In the words of Hideo Yoshie, the main character designer of Soulcalibur IV, Algol is "a character that obviously proves the setting of being the strongest character ever in SC series".

Algol's costume originates from a culture so ancient that it was not recorded in history, and the designer says it was very difficult to design it for that reason. The "bird" was decided to be the final motif of Algol's armor although there were many other ideas such as the lion and dinosaur.


As the strongest character in the history of the entire Soul Calibur universe, he wields both Soul Edge and Soul Calibur (thus giving his hands a red or blue glow). He is also said to hide ten kinds of weapons within his body.

Algol also has the unique ability to send out floating projectiles that can be reflected back at him, although he can bounce them back again. He also has the power of teleportation.

i dont know if anyone else noticed this but the fighting engine looks very similar to tekken 6. this game should be badass
 
Got this yesterday.

The coolest feature of SC4 is the character creation (both for visual and stats) and how they will be in the game's cutscenes. IMO, the Star War characters add nothing to the game other than the addition of 3 overly powerful characters so to make sure the people from Lucas films are happy. While that is find if those characters are only usable for offline only, which is not the case here.

Noobs can still get by with some mindless button mashing with some faster characters and may dismiss the Star War characters as "lame" or "slow", believe me, in the right hands those are simply way too unbalanced.

The story mode is a joke and the arcade mode is ok until you have to fight Starkiller, which became more of a game of luck and using stupid tactics.

Anyway, is anyone playing this game? I rented it so I want to fight some of you guys online.

I play also, actually, only play GT once since I bought the new SC.

I'm under GTP_Miatamaniac9

My main two are Taki and Killik. But I always pick random when playing super experienced players.

Yeah, I've not touched GT5P since I got SC4, I'm slowly trying to level-up all the characters and finish TOLS (also waiting for the fall update of GT5P). I played one game of online and had my rear end handed to me...obviously I suck, but if anyone wants to add me (perhaps we can help each other achieve some of the honours) feel free. My PSN is GTP_MisterWeary 👍
 
sampled the Xbox ver...and immediatly pounced on Yoda. nothing unusual. while I was there, gound SC3 and snatched it. talk about everyone under the sun, there.

still haven't made up my mind as to which Soul Fighter I prefer...over 3 iterations of the game (not including the first Soul Caliber).

At 3am I realised my reactions had taken a hit, but I'd be glad to continue the beatings at a later date.

I lolled at the 70's throwback fighting a giant cat.
