Sammo Hung (Kam-Bo) directed Soul Calibur the Movie back in 2002, I did hear about another version though.

What would really make an excellent series of movies on the Lord of the Rings level is the Dynasty warriors series (which is actually based on Romance of the 3 kingdoms which Koei reaps for all it's software.)
