Sound lag? Please help

My sounds goes through a HDMI cable, straight into the TV.

When you press the horn button, and release. It takes 0.5 seconds AFTER the release, for the horn sound to 'activate'

It's very frustrating because I listen to the down/upshifts to help me tell which gear I'm in..

Any ideas?
 
I have none at all. I've never even heard of that. Lately, there's been some odd things going on with GT5 and of course, PSN. So that could be to blame. Whatever it is.
 
I'm guessing TV picture/sound syncs are okay?

Try connecting your PS3 with a SCART lead and see if the problem persists.

Make sure your TV isn't doing any clever sound processing on the HDMI sound channel that's causing lag... but 0.5s is a massive massive amount so it's unlikely.

Check the cables and ports are clean (especially if you got conned into buying a gold one!) and completely reboot the TV from zero power (not just Stand By).
 
It's the TV, not the game. There's probably a menu setting on the TV that will allow you to sync sound and pic.

Also, see if the TV has a game mode video setting and use that.
