Hi all, I just bought a new tv, LG 37" LCD 37LH55. The problem is, when using the tv for sound through an HDMI cable, the sound seems to be delayed for a half second or so. This happens on both my cable box and ps3. If I use my home stereo for sound through optical or rca cables everything is fine. Any Ideas?

Can you return your HDMI cables, or exchange them for another set? Try that, and if it doesn't solve the problem, maybe the TV's HDMI input is awry.

Did you use an HDMI cable for your PS3 before with any other TV with no problems?

Thats well weird man. If theres any delay Id expect it to be the stereo. Mind sharing the rest of your setup?
Also, can you use optical input to your tv?

This is actually a common situation with the LG TV's. A google for "Audio Sync HDMI" shows a slew of results that are nearly similar in question to yours.

I have this slightly with my Sony TV/Verizon FiOS/Onkyo Receiver. If I play the sound through the TV, the sync is perfect. If I play the Sound through the reciever, it is slightly delayed.

If you check the TV manual, there may be a setting to adjust Audio Delay with HDMI.

Thanks for all the reply's. I called LG and there answer is the usual one for electronic problems. Turn everything off, unplug the power, wait 10 minutes then restart everything. I did all that then watched a normal dvd on my ps3 and the sound was fine. Seems anything hi def doesn't sync right. Still working on it.
