I'm getting into tuning my own cars instead of always borrow other people's tunes and a couple of times I've seen references to a cars real life weight distribution F/R. Just wondering if there is a central database or source for that info or if you look each car up individually?

Any help would be appreciated...and yes I did a search and didn't turn up anything.

Doubtful; I'd be HIGHLY surprised if any one individual (or even a group of individuals) compiled a centralized list of all the real life car specs for the 1,000+ cars specifically in GT5.

Would be a helluva resource, though.

Using Google is the best way to go. The information you are looking for is scattered all across the web.

Just finding gear ratios for real world cars can be difficult sometimes.

Thanks Sanmusa...I had a look at that link and that's the kind of thing I was looking for. Doesn't have all the cars in GT5 obviously but quite a few matches.

I'm making a Porsche 959 replica using a RUF CTR2 as a basis, the CTR2 is the closest model to the 959. Too bad I have to use the power limiter to lower hp to 450 hp, but it has gobs and gobs of torque.

Aren't the cars at normal spec when you buy them before tuning?

You'd think so, but there are a fair amount of cars with inaccurate stats in GT5. The F40 for example is far too heavy. The Enzo on the other hand is lighter than it should be, and more powerful. Then you run into the lazy localizations, things like a "Lexus GS300" with the 2JZ engine.

Toronado has an excellent thread for this, located right here.

As for the topic at hand, I assume it seeks to recreate cars not in the game - Google helps. I hunted down the specs for the old Viper GTS-based Venom 650R, and created something as close as I could to it. The new Camaro ZL-1 is another that can work. A fair amount of us have recreated the M3 GTS, too. Your best bet is to just look around the web a bit; you'll find what you need quickly enough.

Nah Slip, I'm not looking to recreate anything, just tune the cars for racing online and mostly I'm looking for the F/R weight distributions for setting up the suspension. It can save a lot of guesswork and some time in setting up the tunes.

Thanks for the link Realistic I'll check that out.
