How about enable it for the members that are helpful. And if the dishonest members want it they could be good and they can get it?

Boy, I can already see my PM inbox now... "Jordan, I'm really helpful, see what I did? I need a special accomplishment icon!" So, I give him an icon, and later that day I receive another PM from someone... "Hey, why did he get an icon for answering a few stupid questions, when I spent hours and hours composing answers to posts to earn my icon?" That's not a real fun situation to be in, so I'm not real eager to put myself in it.

Well, I'm not sure you'd get much take-up for that one, but hey, it's your forums!!!!

On a more serious note, I think it would be best served by only awarding icons to people who had been voted by the general community, although this does rather assume that you're going to be running more awards, which was hard work at the time, and which you've already said you're not in the mood for at the moment.

Perhaps people could appeal to have an icon, create a poll themselves, providing justification for their award, and then depending upon the Planet's vote, the icon could/could not be awarded.
 
I like the idea but some members wouldn't be able to handle it.

Edit: I think it would be cool to have your own little icon if you have been here a year. This way, eventually every member will get one. Also, then the complaining about people not having them will be cut. Sorta...
 
Sorry to bring this thread back up but maybe when the reviewing games comes up, they could have an icon that says they've done"x reviews"...
