I like how when you go to buy a car, the game doesn't inform you that it can't be driven in any races; it's not so bad for cars that you win, since you didn't pay for them, but when you go out and buy a Caterham Seven, modify it, tune it, give it an oil change, and then discover that you can't race it anywhere, it's a bit exasperating.

Does anyone else find this to be incredibly annoying?

It is so easy to earn money in this game that it doesn't bother me.
And I always try (race) the cars I've purchased before modyfing them...
And you still can do time trial with these cars!

Yes! Whining posts about the exact same issues that have been discussed on MANY threads over MANY months are incredibly annoying.

It has been discussed before, but not every new person who comes in here can trawl through several thousand posts to fully acquaint themselves of every discussion that's ever been had.

I think the annoyign aspect of this particular 'feature' is not so much that they can't be raced with - I understand the logic behind *why* - but rather the fact that the user is given no warning of this ... and it really would not be asking much to have a little popup confirmation appear on these cars, and even a visual clue that the car was purely for the collection and not practical purposes.

Meh, with all the information out on the net right now, its hard to imagine people are still buying cars without knowing about this stuff.
Sorry bout your lose.

I feel with you man, It has been discussed before, yes, but now it is you who needs to pour out your frustration. It's Ok. I think frustration threads are Ok to post even when they have been posted before, this is like letting out some steam. I bought the caterham myself. Still, I find it fun to race it around the ring, and for the money spent, well, there's always the DTM -> sell the Merc race car trick ~900000cr in 8mins.

CMcMahon, this is John of Houston, TX, USA. Nice to meet you.

As far as Special Cars go, yes. It's a shame. You can still race these vehicles, even if you can't race it in one-on-one or against five others. A great way to know if a car counts as a "Special Car," take it (in Gran Turismo mode) to an Events Hall. If you cannot enter it, you cannot race it in GT Mode. Usually, Special Cars are primarily high-polygon machines that probably wouldn't function very well against others. There would be a Special Car exception, though. It's the Daihatsu Midget when you win the Midget race series in Daihatsu. It's pretty small, has three wheels, but still is a Special Car.

The remedy to it all is doing some practice runs as well as Time Trials and some Arcade races. If you can't race it ANYWHERE, PD wouldn't include the car in the game. If I had to choose one that I wish would be used in races, it would have to be (hands down) the Caterham Fireblade. At least maybe a "rag top" version would have worked, maybe even be its own race series.

So lighten up, pal. You can still race it in the game, just not against others. Now go race.
