Speed 12 body???

ok, something's been bugging me about the TVR Speed Twelve...and i'm SURE i'm not the only one! The wheel wells are HUGE!! they extend a good 30 cm above the tip of the actual tire! to me this looks horridly rediculous...and i always thought that it was an issue with the game designers not making the car correctly....but i stumbled upon a picture of a 00' Speed 12...and look what i found

am i the only one who wants to know just WHY the car is made this way? if you have any clue, please....flame away!:lol:
 
i know it aint a FIAT, but it sure is pretty to me! just..if i could...fix....or even, umm...fill the wheel wells...with like styrofoam or something...arg it's so annoying!!! WHY ARE THE WHEEL WELLS SO HIGH!!! AGH it's killing me
 
good guess....heres a pic of it ingame...same model, same problem...the wheel wells are huge!

it's even worse if you actually look at it in the dealership screen.....especially if the car is white...cuz theres big black gaping holes above the wheels
 
also...guess what we might have in GT4? anyone see the "PS2" logo printed on the door???? i hope PD is in on that contract!!!

I would go with the wheel size thing...

I would guess that the racer has huge wheels.

So that is what Im putting my money on.
 
Hey , good find. I actually wondered the same thing myself, as the in-game model looks very,very wierd. I'm not sure why TVR made the Speed 12 this way. There should be a good reason for it being like this. Any members can clarify this ?

i'm not trying to compare the road car to the race car, just go check the TVR dealer in GT3 and take a look at the speed 12's wheel wells.....come back and tell me that im either:

1 - one of the hundreds who has probobly noticed but never asked, OR
2 - I'm crazy as a goat with 3 legs.....

Oh yeah , gumpy , why do you think that the wheel wells are part of the bulbous styling on the car? Don't you think they serve a purpose or anything ? I doubt they would have designed the car in this way IMO , but who knows.

I am probably not smart enough to think of what functional purpose large wheel wells serve so I said they are just part of the bulbous design.

The whole car looks a bit overdone to me. The wheel wells almost suit it. :lol:

I am currently in the process of winning all the colours just because they are there but I would say this is one of the least pleasant looking cars in the game for me. I wouldn't call it ugly just not pleasant to look at.

I am also winning them to give me another overkill car to use at the PD Cup. At least a variety of cars makes it a little less boring. And I have run a Speed 12 at one race there and it does take a little more driving effort than other cars.
 
The Speed 12 is one of the most beautiful cars in GT3 , IMO. But I still respect people's opinion ;)

I can't handle the Speed 12 very well ( all settings stock ) I might need to find some tunings for the car. Good luck with finding the colours gumpy 👍
 
I must admit some colours make it look good while others make it look bad.

I have 6 of the colours already:

Titanium Metallic
Reflex Purple
Chameleon Blue
Silver Stardust Metallic
Crystal Topaz Pearlescent
Sunset Pearlescent

And I need these:

Reflex Spice
Chameloen Orange
Alpine Green Metallic
Rosso Pearlescent
Starmist Blue
Moonraker Black Metallic

I am looking forward to the Moonraker black.
 
I have Purple purple (like in the pic) and I have orange to red...two TVR Speed 12s...one of the only cars i have two of in my almost full garage :D

it looks absolutely impressive. I have it. but, what makes it be THE VILLAIN CAR in the game... put BLACK brilliant rims on it. oh. oh man. its just PLAIN-ASS SINISTER. darth vadder would be overwhelmed by that thing.

eerr... BTW, in wich cup you are winning the speed12s??? I am collecting them too (done with the GT40s, so now the speed 12) but they give 'em to you in an ammount of races. wich one are you doing??
 
I used to do the one how it has three Griffiths and one Speed 12, but isn't there another series? I think i would still do the one with the three Griffiths though.
 
It's available at leat in the PD Cup Pro and the TVR Challenge Pro. Other places, I'm not sure.
 
It doesn't suck, you just can't drive it.

Stock with TCS on 2 and ASM off it's a ***** cat.

Edit: Oh good grief... It's an animal, not a vagina... Jesus, what happened to the "No censors" part of your constitution? I can understand censoring out words which are ONLY expletives, but animal names? Come on!
 
Just treat it as you would the GT-ONE Race Car at Cote d'Azur... never take it below 3rd gear and you've got yourself one mean ride.

And if there's a Speed 12 Race Car in GT4 I'll never have to buy another racing game again! :D
 
The real reason the Speed 12 has massive wheelarches is because of the 4 wheel drive SUV version they were going to produce, but Peter Wheeler (boss of TVR) drove one home one night and it scared him silly, so they decided not to produce any.
