Anyone see the switch? it was on just a coulple of mins ago, 7:59 estern to be exact. I thought that the animation was cool, only to be let down by them having a NASCAR program on right after the switch :mad: I hope thier coverage of WRC and Turing cars makes up for all of the NASCAR they show :)

Well It took them exactly 1minute to continue their NASCAR... I wonder if we will ever get back good ol' european reacing?

I know, they had that Nascar Images program on, then the switch(BTW, it was Nascar related too with the building of a Nascar, and then the footage they showed), then the had another Nascar program. Soo stupid :rolleyes:
 
why do we need 5 days of nascar preview in prime time. if they don't show le mans flag to flag i may boycott the channel. other than rally, i'm not sure how much i'll miss. i'm glad the o'reilly factor was on.

Why isn't it enough? Because Fox wants to own everything....they couldn't just spawn their own channel, they had to buy Speedvision :mad: . What a monopoly.....Mr Murdoch just keep getting richer day by day.

The more I think about it, the more pi**ed I get :mad: :mad:
 
I couldn't give a damn less if he owns speedvision. Just leave the things alone! Who outside of the states wants to even watch nascar?
 
I just saw the Rally of Sweden on the "Speed Channel", and I can't believe the commentator!! :mad: This yelling guy sounds like he's broadcasting a NASCAR race or football game, not the WRC! Have all the 2002 rallies featured this guy so far, or is this another gift of the "Speed Channel"? :rolleyes:
 
I haven't watched Speedvision....oops i mean Speed Channel(so stupid) since I watched the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. The more and more I read all this stuff, the more and more I'm not sure if I want to. As long as they still keep le mans and rally and stuff like that, I'll be happy.........for the most part.
 
They will cover Endurance racing including LeMans and Sebring, and Petit Le Mans...they said so during the Rolex.

I don't think it will be flag to flag, evidenced by their split coverage of the Rolex 24 :mad:

(Which was still pretty good, however they cut out the whole night, and that's the best part :mad: :mad: :mad: )
 
what's that? They're showing 3 hours of interviews with the Childress team and the likes... Who :censored:in cares??
 
Yo want more depressing news? Go to speedtv.com and look at their TV schedule...primetime is 90-95% Nascar related...

I am sickened :yuck:

It is a speed channel gift. I watched the Swedish rally a week before the change and it was still done by 2001 Announcer It was also a nonabridged version. The Speedchanel is abridged.
 
Well, they still have on Bike Week and stuff. Still waiting for Motor Vision...

GT fans tend to prefer road racing. It isn't that there is NASCAR, or even that some shows will be lost, it's that the amount of NASCAR. And the changes made to some other shows are ridiculous.

There are multiple NASCAR shows on near daily, and it dominates the weekday primetime slot. And yes, I count shows like Car & Track and series racing similar yet not related to NASCAR.

I am sure there are NASCAR fans here, but the level of NACAR programming is rude. This morning, 3 hrs of NASCAR.

Check the schedule. Oh, and Speedvision.com was a much better site, Speedchannel is nowhere near as good. Where are the classic car stories?

Check the other racing thread to see a list of reasons why I may boycott the channel.

I guess you are right, Speedvision was a channel which had all types of exotic racing which appeal to a wide variety of people. Speedchannel seems to be more single minded.
 
Am i the only one offended by the "Winston Cup Wednesday" ads? Shouldn't it be "Winston Cup, Monday through Sunday" instead? Damn it sucks!!! Oh well, at least they still show Rallies... if that's some sort of consolation...
 
Hopefully, SC is just focusing on NASCAR because of the Daytona 500 hype. That seems to be all I've seen since the switch, except for some Motorsport Mundial last night, and the Swedish Rally a week ago.

there was "American Muscle Car" from noon i think, up to 4 or 5 pm... all re-runs!
 
We should just make our own station! Resurrect Speedvision. We could get money from disgruntled Speedvision lovers and then remake it! That'll show FOX!

The new website sucks! I can't belive how crappy it is. They ****ing better make a new one! Any webmasters? Lets resurrect the Speedvision site!

it is not about nascar itself, it's about nascar's saturation, nascar has many channels that show their races, nascar may dwarf f1 someday, the superbowl fears nascar. there's room for nascar, but the bias is not fair.
