So about two months a go I bought the DFP. I wasn't dissapointed with it. I just don't have time to play it. I haven't played Gran Turismo in probably two weeks. I also am not that good with it since I don't have to much time to practice. I get better times with the DS2 then with the DFP. O well maybe over the summer I might get to play it.

Buy Richard Burns rally or some other PC racing game. :)

You are only getting slower times with the DFP because you are a noob :dopey:

I suggest jumping in a S2000, Civic type r, and a Subaru STi (past ver, 4) and just do some hotlaps untill you get respectable times with each car. By then you will be much more skilled with the DFP.

Its deffinatly not a waste of money unless you dont like GT4 that much in the 1st place. :dunce:

:EDIT" use N1 or N2 tires :EDIT:

I thought the same thing the first couple days with my DFP... Now I would never turn back.

hey im a noob to the forum but im not bad at using the dfp i actually get better times than i do with the ds2...maybe only by like .321 or something small but still it is better

Actually, the single best thing you can do to help your lap times with the DFP is get somewhere solid and comfortable to mount it. It's hopeless unless you're sitting in a natural position and the wheel isn't wiggling all over.

Well, except for Old Geezer who can totally school me while holding the thing on his lap...

They should make a section called gtblog where all the posts that are just people whining could post. it would clear a llot of mess up. they could write a script to detect whine posts in wrong sections and automatically move them.

by the title of your thread i thought you had some kind of problem. then after reading through it, it seems you have supplied yourself an answer to your problem. so, if there is a question and an answer in the same post why bother starting this thread?

Haha rofl, you're right:)

TBH i get mildly slower times with the DFP, but i still love using it, just takes a little time to get used to but for sure its alot better than the DS2, this all coming from a guy who swore he would never use a Steering wheel in his life. ha how things change once the sweet taste of victory with a DFP takes hold.

could you post what time you get with a stock 2004 s2000 with N2 tires on Tsukuba Using a DS2 and DFP? i dont get how some people are actually faster with the DS2? I'm flabberghasted.

Will do, as soon as i can, but at the mo the DFP and seat are packed away due to there being a gas cooker in the room blocking the space for the chair. will do the DS2 time in a mo, i will edit this post with the time. :)

[edit]

Well done the DS2 times.

Stock S2000 '03

N1(T) - (DA on) - 1'13.195
N1(T) - (DA off) - 1'11.294

N2(T) - (DA on) - 1'10.412
N2(T) - (DA off) - 1'08.547

i will edit this post again when ive done the DFP times. :)

I just did 4 laps around tsukuba with the DFP and got a time of 1'07.944 with the S2000 on N2 tires with the DFP, No assists.

Keep in mind i've spent the last 2 weeks tuning and driving front wheel drive cars so i'm way off the perfect racing line on at least 3 of the turns. 1st time in a rwd car in a weeks. I know my time with the DS2 is gonna be at least 2 seconds off...

I'm not posting this as a PB. If you took someone who's never played Gran Turismo and let them use the DS2 for 2 hours and the DFP for 2 hours, they'd most likely get a faster time with the DFP.
