theys hould be alot fatser round the 'ring now though. MB has started a performance onslaught, and I belive they got a 2 tonne sl facelift round the ring just under 8 mins. Now thats impressive.

Mercedes is really starting to annoy me. All their AMG cars do one thing well: go fast and straight. I personally like my cars to go around turns and go fairly fast. They're missing half the equation.
Speakin of hot handling, I think I'm in love with you after seeing that RS3. Gorgeous! I just hope I had about 50K layin around and I'd go snatch up the first one. Damn!

First of all, if AMG's didn't handle well, it might be because they aren't ment to be raced around curves. Second, I'm sure all of those big Mercedes kill many many cars around curves. Cars like those might look and seem to handle like ****, but do you think a Cayenne S would handle any well around a curve? Trust me, that 2.5? tonne car kills pretty much 99% of the cars i see on the road around the curves once set on the on hard "sports" suspension settings.

...The CLS55 is actually a very good handeling car, matching the BMW M5 in the last performance test in Car and Driver. Of course, being so heavy and down a few horsepower, it did fall behind around Grattan Raceway, but it nonetheless proved it handels just as well.

Okay, they may have high grip or transition alright, but you wouldn't know it if you were going by steering feel, brake pedal feel, and all those details that the magazines pay attention to. I am just prejudiced against Benzs, mainly because I only see rich pansies driving around in AMGs all the time, having not a clue that the thing has 612 hp. He just bought it because it looked cool and was extremely expensive. Not all rich guys do that, of course, but the only Benz I would even consider owning is a new SLK350. With a stick.

Powerful car's are a symbol of status for most people, the vast majority of fast, powerful, expensive car's are never used on a track. No different from the average Porsche, Viper or Ferrari owner, you don't need thoes car's, they're just a luxury for thoes that can afford them, and if you happen to be able to afford one, what better reason do you need other than you like it because it looks cool and you can show off in it.

^^ What he said. Its like bodybuilders, they dont need all that muscle for everyday life for girls with breast implants.

You dont NEED it, but you most certainly would want it, no? Dropping a 500+HP torque-monster V8 under the hood of a car that isnt any bigger than a 3-series is crazy, really a German Muscle Car like nothing before it. Kudos to Mercedes for doing it, and you know the model is going to make money, as they will only build a few thousand a year.

Not much in life is really about need, most things are about wanting it as a luxury like an expensive leather sofa or a 52" TV and the list goes on. There's absolutely nothing wrong with owning things you need, if you want it, and you can afford it, that's all the reason you need to get it.

M3 killer? Possibly...

RS4 compeditor? Maybe...

A kick-ass ride? Certainly!

I dont think the RS4 will live too long. Once the RS5 is out with the same engine people wont want the 4 anymore as it will be sitting on an inferior chassis. But then again audi might delay the RS5 but rumours point to a RS5 being out a year or two after model launch.

They have an A2. Its some minicar thing in Europe. I believe that they discontinued production tho.
And of course, the Q7.

So thats
A2
A3
A4
A5
A6
Q7
A8

Is the LeMans gonna be called an R9 or something?
Do plans/cars for A1 and or A9 exist? The names (particularly A1) seem familiar.

A9...I wonder what it can possibly be...a "sports grand utility luxury economic automobile" aka SGULEA....:D

The Le Mans car is called R10.

GT4_Rule
Oh...so now they will have

A3
A4
A5
A6
A8

All they need now is A1, A2, A7, A9, A10, B1, B2, B3, and so on....until Z.

The audi lineup in a couple years will look like this.

A2
A3
A4
A5
A6
A7
A8

Q5
Q7

TT
R8

American automobile news websites are lighting up with rumors about a Q3 now...

...I could have understood a Q5, and the Q5 only, but the Q7 and Q3 are completely unnecessary. Audi does need a crossover here in the US, as they still are rather popular despite the fact that gasoline has become so expensive.

Now what relationship does the Q3 have with the new Golf/Rabbit-based crossover that has been rumored for VW for some time?
