Splash out or build up slow?

Basically, I'm new to the GT series and am a small way into the GT mode.
I haven't bought a car yet, still using the original one that I bought with the 20,000 at the start, so I have saved up about 200,000 so far.

So I've done pretty much all the Beginner races, and some of the Amateur ones, and I've come to the point where my car isn't so great anymore and quite frankly I fancy a nice new one.

So here's my dilemma. Am I meant to buy a cheaper car that I use for a bit, get all the races done, then progress slowly up the car ranks until I need to get some super expensive ones in order to compete? Or as I have saved up a nice amount do I spend it all on a 200,000 car with high specs because I can?

I'm guessing if I do the latter then most of the races I'll be doing at the moment will be stupidly easy to win and will get really boring, right?

Well you have to find your way !
you are still at the begining so the great problem is the EXP points not money
even if you buy cars you will still have money but worse you have to have the EXP to lvl up so it's your own game and some races you must have a car only for that race so
try it out and have fun keep racing thats only the good part .

Don't do what I did, but a relatively cheap skyline from the early 90s, tune it to the hilt (not sure how expensive but in the 100,000s) and watch as it's not eligible for any races any more.

Plan ahead; figure out which races you want to farm, and buy a car that dominates it. A-Spec requires you to have many different types of cars for its events, but you will ultimately run out of events to level up with.

So in short, buy any GT-R and max it so you can win at Daytona/Indy 500 easily (or have B-Spec Bob win races for you).

Well I just wen't and bought the Clio Sport V6. Needed it for a few of the Amateur races and seemed like a good car but not so fast that all the races would be stupidly easy. Seem like a decent choice?

I recommend doing the license tests. If you can get all golds in B you'll pick up a nice Tommy Kaira zz. If you can manage a gold in some of the challenges you might pick up a car or two there. Can also coach bobs for cars as well. In short, I like to upgrade free cars to maximize the cash.

i just go for whatever the next race requires. need an old japanese car? go find one. need a hatchback? go find one. repeat as necessary. you can't really rely on any one car in this game. so just get what you need and then go back and have fun when you completed all you can or just need to grind out some ex points.

Go through all the Special Events you've qualified to run so far - they'll give you a healthy amount of EXP and credits.

Wow, using the Clio Sport V6, brilliant on the straights, but on every corner the back is swinging out big time. Is this my driving? Or the car?

Never had this problem with the other cars I've had, is it because this one has more power than those did?

If you are new to the GT series, I would suggest that you build up slowly, to get a feel for things. Try and maximise your car selection, so that you can have a car that is compatible with as many races as possible.

I'd suggest you also try each drive train to see which you are most comfortable with, then splash out on a moderately powerful car in that category to build up your skills.

I'd also suggest saving as much of your cash as possible for the latter races. I squandered much of the cash I earned early on in the game, when I should have saved, and it certainly would have mitigated some of the grinding! 👍

I got to level 6 or so on A-spec, I then started on b-spec as the prize cars would be handy on both modes. Got to level 31, unlocked the x1 and have owned a lot the races. Not to mention all the extra credits, which come in handy.
