What do you guys think of split-screen action in GT5:P?

Is the screen 4:3 or 16:9? By that I mean does the screen split left to right so there's player 1 above and player 2 below, or is it side by side.

Can you use in-car camera view in split-screen action? Thanks! :)
 
I don't know about the splitting (left/right or up/down), but you can't use onboard view with it.
 
If the screen is 4:3 the screen will split verticaly, otherwise horizontaly. Just to ensure maxium visibility.
 
i only wish the replays coul be viewed like in Gt3. Full screen and will show whoever is in 1st place.
 
I was racing my mum last night (she visited) and she got so confused when we were both in RX8 cars and she thought she was driving like a god...:dopey:

With all that power under the PS3 hood I was hoping to see in-car views for both players.

Thinking on this topic, something that annoys me in split screen is that the details of your speed/gears etc appear on the right, and you can hear both engines in game...this makes shifting harder if you are someone who listens for gear changing. (me)
 
It's not so much a problem with power, but visibility for the person playing.

How much track and surroundings would you see on a half screen and with the dashboard, steering wheel, mirrors and probably a sticker on the upper part of the windshield?

I suspect you can't use the in car view during split screen otherwise it would clutter the screen up to much and you wouldn't be able to see where your going very well.

You mean 16:9 is split vertically, and 4:3 is horizontal, right?

I don't see why not, you could always change to another view if you didn't like it?
 
This what i found on 2 player.

there is 2 options for driving, out of car or front of car.

There is 2 player replays, it replays as it would normally for each car in split screen.

also the screen set up is not great, there is too much screen space taken up by all the displays. everything doesnt need to be that big ie lap, position, speedo etc and the lap time and the pop up of split times are right in your driving view which is not good. surely they could put that on bottom left cnr or something so your driving view isnt interrupted.
 
also i cannot change the button assignment for controller 2?

i can get click on options but when in there controller 2 stops working completely. has anyone else had this problem?
 
It would be a very nice thing if the split screen could be ADJUSTED by you.

For example, for those of us with 16:9 widescreens, to split the screen vertically in the middle, so the 1st player is left and 2nd player is right. That way, you could even split the engine sounds, so the 1st player's engine sound comes out the left speakers, and so on for the right side.

Does that sound like a good idea?

I have the same problem with controller 2. I cant assign other settings to it and must drive with default buttons. This sucks as I hate to accelerate with the X button etc.

Anyone been able to change controller settings on controller 2?

Amen brother! Split screen replays are for people who can't do close action racing :crazy:

Absolutely agree with you on that one. Sound in Split screen is really annoying!
I never know when to get back on the throttle when the car downshifts because i can hear both engines. someone in another thread mentioned that car 1 should have sound coming from the left channel, and car 2 from the right channel. Sound like a good idea to me.
 
I want multi screen setup => multi lan setup.
