Just played the demo. Seems fun arcade game and does not even try be simulation and fail like forza 3 did. I would likely buy modnation racer over this.

lets see those reviews guys this and Blur along with Modnation are in for a battle.

Split/Second and Blur might compete but neither has much to do with ModNation.

I liked the demo but Blur was more fun for me. Split/Second might be a second hand pick up for me. Definitely not bad but Blur drops soon as well and has already won me over.

I just downloaded the Demo. Do I not understand something, or does this game, indeed, not support playing with the wheel (I have DFGT)? Thanks.

Just played the demo, it was fun. As has been said the physics are arcade, but they still seem good. The AI was good and was close until the end when they for some reason just fell 7 seconds behind.

One of my biggest gripes is that they didn't put much into the demo so the power-ups are rather confusing.

This game seems to be a good amount of fun, but I will have to see what Blur has to offer if I decide to buy one of them.

Rented this last night and I just cant get into it. After playing Blur the last 2 weeks this feels like I am in slow motion. Blur destroys this game by a longshot.

I have blur on xbox and split second on ps3.
And both are really cool, like them both.
i would say the split screen in Blur is more fun as you can do the motormash (destruction derby like)

but Blur lacks a bit of innovation imo. It's a port of mario cart for big boys.
blur's ads is funny.

Split second is kind of new, and when a lot happens on the screen, like the big events, it just looks darn gorgeous.

Sad that both came out in the same time, because a lot will need to choose between the 2, and definitly both are worth.

DL the demos and decide based on your own taste.

Let the battle begin (idea: rename the thread : Blur VS Split/Second)

I played both demos and both full games. IMO Blur just destroys SS. Blur has 20 players on the track, thousands and thousands of challenges to unlock, the ability to attack or defend yourself from any angle, and so much more. I do apologize, i didnt mean to make it a Blur vs SS thread.

I can't really judge on blur yet as i haven't played it alot. Like 10min in solo and the rest was in split screen with friends (4 players rocks)

Played more Split Second in Solo. But there are too many games out there and not enough time. Red dead is too much time consuming LOL

I think it comes down to the taste. Blur is a bit less arcardy (more NFS) and Split Second strongly remembers like Ridge Racer (for the drifts) and Burnout.
This is also the same for the cars...

but you just give me a reason to try Blur out more.

So is the general consensus that Blur is better?? Because I'm thinking of picking one of the two up this weekend...

I highly highly recommend Blur. 20 players on the track at once, thousands and thousands of challenges to complete, powerups that allow you to shoot in front, in back, and on both sides, allong with full defensive powerups. Its been called the COD of racing games especially since its made by Activision with many of the same style challenges. You could play Blur for a year and never unlock all the challenges. You can also change your loadouts whenever you want. Plus it also uses real life licensed cars. Not fictional cars.

And shoot in the air if you hit. Didn't know about the sides, good to know.
@Blitz: both are cool. It's hard to decide, But camaro seems to really be into Blur, i haven't so i can't really give you an advice. If you have the possiblity, try both for at least some matches.
but it seems that blur has more replay/longitivity value

hard choice. That's why we would need to rename the thread Blur VS SS, so the battle can begin LOL

Thanks for the tips guys... I think i'll rent them both first before I buy one.. .👍

Yes you can shoot from the air too. Oh you can also target the first place person even if you are in last place. So you truly never know what to expet in this game. Its balanced very well. I have went from 1st to 20th in seconds and have also went from 20th to 1st in seconds. Blur is always action packed and you always have a chance to win. But you also always have a chance to lose.

The Barge powerup in Blur blasts the left and right side of your car. You can also upgrade it I think around rank 5 or so. And yes Blur has MUCH more replay value by a longshot. I say rent SS and buy Blur.

Just make sure you play the "powered up" races in Blur. They have 20 players on the track at once. As you level up you get more powers and much better cars.
