Spoon and Mugen S2000s

Hey, I'm not sure if it's of much interest, but I now have both the Spoon and Mugen S2000s. So, I took them out on SS11 and Leguna Seca to see which was faster. I didn't write down the times, but the Spoon was consistantly quicker, at least for me.

I first thought the Mugen was a bit easier to handle (I even backed out of a run to re-check the setting and make sure I didn't have better tires on it). I think it might have been just because it was a bit slower, though.

I also tried a stock S2000 Type V. The times were down a bit from both cars.

That's it. I just thought I'd share my findings if anyone's interested.
 
Hmmmmm, i got two spoon S2000 yet which one's were u refering too? I dont ahve the mugen, thas for sure, yet i have the spoon one that has the racing modification on it, yellow and blue, and then i got a dark putple one, with black wheels, which is different in weight, and in hp. I accidentaly sold my Mugen before i got to race it so im a little mad about that, but i ll get it tomorrow.
 
i love the Spoon version, the road one... it simply sticks to the track like nothing else!!! it's incredible!
 
Oh, forgot the two Spoon S2000s might cause some confusion. I meant the Spoon-modified S2000 that's close to the production version, not the yellow/blue Spoon S2000 Race Car. I didn't compare that one because, well, I'd be surprised if the race car wasn't quicker.

I might try it, though. I haven't found too much use for that car so far. Of course, there's also the S2000 LM Race Car which is astoundingly good, I think.
 
Punk: Yup, I'm pretty impressed with it and have tried running it in a few races. It's great. (Even went to the Spoon Website to find out more about what the do)
 
the race version has huge grip too, even more than the road one... i could take that long sweeper in Tokyo without lifting! :cool:
 
I got the Racing Spoon S2000, But I got the NSX Type-R instead of the other Spoon S2000 in the amateur Type-R race. Maybe I'm mistaken, But isn't that the only race that you can get the Mugen S2000 and the production looking Spoon S2000? I hope not, Because I want them all!! Someone help me....

Imports4Life: There's a prize car list at the top of this forum. I think that's about the only series where the regular Spoon S2000 and Mugen are given. BUT, if you don't know, you can race a series multiple times and get prize cars. I've been working on getting all the cars (got 100% a month or two ago). Same goes for the endurance races.
 
No you cannot get the Spoon S200 or Mugen S200 multiple times
 
yes you can... Amateur Type-R challenge...
 
modik: That's how I got them. After completing everything, I went back and started getting cars I didn't have. Ran the Amateur Type R challenge to get the other 2000s.

You have to enter the series again, not just the races. Basically, anything that gives you a random pick of four cars you can do again (series and endurance races). I'm not sure if anyone's done the endurance races three or four times, though. I certainly haven't.
 
MUGEN...go for the MUGEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Why do you want a S2000..........go for something a bit more exotic!
 
The Spoon race S2000 is not all that fast. You can only tune it to 355 hp.
 
i am hoping to get these two in amtuer type r meeting, they are both great cars! personally i think the MUGEN 2000 IS BETTER.

Anyway, if some people go back to the original post, it's on a comparison I did of the Spoon and Mugen non-race versions.

Dude, 355 hp is great for the amateur cup races. But the fully modded Spoon race car is slow. It can be beaten like a drum by any of the other S2000, that is likewise fully modded.
The Spoon race car is very cool looking, though. The S2000 racecar from GT2 has over 500 HP.

Did some testing of my own, no Mugen (sorry, don't have it yet)
Tested Spoon S2000 Race car, Spoon S2000, and Honda S2000.
All my cars are fully modded. Results follow. The winner? Jump down to the bottom of this post.

Spoon S2000 (355HP)
0-400M: 13.072 (I may be able to knock a tenth or two off with gear tweeks.)
0-1000M 23.790
Fast Lap of Midfield: 1:18.884 (I run 10 laps or stop when I can no longer beat my times.)

Spoon S2000 (444HP)
0-400: 11.903
0-1000: 21.190
Midfield: 1:14.203

Honda S2000 (544HP)
11.675, 20.337, 1:13.419 4.4+ seconds faster than the race car. :thatsodd:
In another thread I did 100,000cr to trick out a car and tested several. This S2000 is faster all-around than the Z06 Corvette I built siticking to the 100k limit.

If you run all the S2000's back to back, with the exception of the LM version, you will come to the same conclusion I did. Fully Modded, the Honda rocks, The Mugen feels more stable, 'cuz it's heaps slower. It is faster than the Spoon Racecar.
