Has anyone noticed how god awful the spoon civic sounds. Is that normal? It's bad enough that it redlines at 15000, but to make things worse, the added that damn tin can muffler. Is that seriously how a real civic sounds without any muffler?

I don't know, only Civic I've ever been in was too quite to hear at all, and we were going 50 MPH on a dirt road, didn't have much time to look around anywhere.

I've noticed that too and when you add a racing muffler, it sounds horrible.

A 'normal' N/A Civic with an aftermarket exhaust does not sound like that. I have heard a couple of Spoons cars on video, and none of them sound like the hatchback in GT3.

It's definitely one engine sound that PD really screwed up.

Have any of the Spoon Civics you've seen on video been that one? I didn't think so, however PD has got it wrong, the real one redlines at around 11500rpm.

You're right Mrs. Cleo, I have not seen that car on video. However, I have seen and heard a Civic that was built with the exact same motor as Spoons demo HB though.

Anything else you would like to tell me that I have not seen or heard?

doesnt the spoon civic stock redline at 11500 in the game aswell? i thought it only got to 15000 after mods.

Don'tcha just love how they made this shopping-cart sound like an F1 though?
That's hilarious!
Try taking on the Pro-league NA trophy in this thing too, that's what its made for!
To see the Zonda beaten by a Japanese tin-can is hysterical!!!

try 17,000RPM, fully modified and I'm of the opinion that the thing sounds awesome:p

the tin can muffler is normal
its a spoon car!!
what do expect from spoon

That sounds like a bad MP3... or a weedwacker that has something caught in its motor...

Damn, kindas reminds me of the Viper GTS in GT1 with racing muffler.... ugh!

But at least now I know there's a motor that revvs as high as the F/094h :)

its not as bad until you get to 10000rpm, then you have to cringe while it slowely accelerates up to the point at which you shift.

Event Horizon, you're right, sounds like the trimming end of a weedwhacker when you let off the gas and go into a corner... I laugh just comparing the noises in my head

try altering you're gearing then

It does sound like a weed wacker.

Well the civic has like a 1.6 liter engine in it. I think it has a B16B in it so thats why it sounds so high pitched. Civics are funny when you think about them.

i love this little car... you do have to do some major work to the gearing if you upgrade the bhp... but when you get it dialed in, the thing's a blast to drive. i've even got the suspension set to give it a little oversteer and it's a blast to slide it through corners... Rome is great for this and SSR5... tons o fun

As bad as it sounds, it can go damn fast, which I think is a lot more important than if it sounds like a lawn-mower.

Eh, weed whacker maybe, but not lawn mower

Just imagine, if a car in GT3 had lawn-mower sounds
although considering its speed the Subie 360 should get lawn mower sounds if it returns to GT4

Hey, I got that car to go 143 m.p.h. in GT2.

This car does not sound anywhere near as bad as the Mazda (cant quite remember the model, was a 3 door I think) when it was fully tuned, sounded like a very hollow whistle

Worst sounding car ever

I've never driven the spoon civic, but I now know that it sounds awful, is that the only flaw, or is it bad in other ways too?

It's FF, it has the worst understeer of any car I've driven in GT3 short of the Escudo...

If you want understeer fully mod a CL.

I think the best sounding 17k car I've driven, which is the one I just got my hands on, is the Calibra.

i know what u mean. that civic sounds like ****. but ive heard a spoon civic in person and it was nothing like that. the exhaust note is more likely to be attributed to the muffler, not the engine, or the combination of the two (headers & whether u have a cat or test pipe also makes a HUGE difference). i own a civic and it sounds NOTHING like this. theres nothing more annoying than a car with a buzzy high pitched exhaust. my car has a DEEP, distinct tone. i use a sebring muffler (not a common brand but one of the best sounding ive heard so far), with a b18c motor (1.8l 170hp vtec integra gs-r).

What do you expect from a freaking four banger?

Oh so you're saying you've got the 'WRC-style' exhause note? Nice 👍
