I couldn't find this anywhere when searching, and I have to say I'm a little surprised.

Here's a link to a 35 minute demonstration of the game. It will take some time. However, it is equally as cool, if you don't have as much time (or if you're lazy), to let it load in the background or while you're out, and scroll through it a bit.

Basically, the concept is life. You start off with a spore; an organism. A microscopic living "thing". You then take complete control over it and grow it how you like. Over (a long) time, you progress through many, many stages and watch it grow, in real-time, into an animal or creature. You then start to conquer your environment. You can build a city; cities, if you like. Basically, it progresses on and on, for quite a long time.

The game stretches from a tiny microscopic being, into something as huge as intergalactic domination. You can take over galaxies. The universe. Anything you like, if you put your mind to it.

It's a highly fascinating game, and I'm sure it will be highly addictive. It's due for Q1 2008, and I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Link to Wikipedia page.

I was very impressed with this game but at the time I was a pc gamer. I hope they have it on a console preferably the PS3 because it would probably do a lot better on that system.

This is done by the same guy who did SimCity right?

I am looking forward to this game though, the concept behind it is pretty cool and I know I will be getting it. SimCity could be highly addictive for one reason or another, so I will have to imagine this game will be the same way.

Saw this video a long time ago and was very impressed, can't wait for it to come out. Also, here's a video of Robin Williams creating a creature.

Downloading the free trail now, if it's any good I'll probably pop for the full version since it's only $9.95. Has there been any indication of a release date for Spore yet? All I've seen is Fall.

The creature creator is quite cool, I tried downloading the full version but EA screwed up (I'm not surprised) and it won't let me get it since my account is "deactivated". I have a inquiry in right now.

I've downloaded the demo, and installed it, now where the hell has it gone?

Nothing in the Start Menu, nothing in Program Files.

Running a search now.

For all their short comings EA has a quick customer service response time. I e-mailed them three hours ago and the problem has been resolved.

I just bought the full Creature Creator. It's pretty fun for it being a very limited aspect of the game.

Does the full creator unlike everything? I've been seeing people complain it only gave them 75-80% of everything.

Yup gives you everything, I amazed at how much stuff you can make. I am really excited for the full version coming out. Sort of like SimEvolution.

I can't get the free trial verison working, I click to start it, it starts to load then dumps me back to the desk top and closes.

the game looks amazingly interesting, a little frustrating that the editor isn't working on me though.

Is anyone having trouble starting Spore? I click on the shortcut and the 2-3 adverts start, EA, Maxis, and something else I think, but then it goes back to the desktop. I check my task manager and it says Spore isn't running.

Odd. It starts fine for me, but no shortcuts are made, so I had to start it within its folder...

Not properly tried it yet, haven't had the chance. Seems quite interesting though.

It's been working fine for me, already made a bunch of creatures. I'm hoping I can import them into the full game when it comes out.

I've got mine working but I have to install the demo then uninstall the EA download manager from the control panel. Apparently some computers are having issues with running the download manager in the background at the same time.

The editor is fun.
Made like 6 creatures. 1 looks like 2 men carrying a big ball on a stick between them :)
