Can you spot the difference(besides the obvious camera angle inconsistency)?

First pic is taken from Gran Turismo PSP
Second pic was a screenshot/bullshot that GTPSP was marketed with back in 2004.

Doesn't this strengthen the theory that Gran Turismo 4: Mobile back in 2004 and Gran Turismo PSP are two separate projects?

Edit: Fixed the first pic.

the graphics ?

and btw .. its GRAN TURISMO .. not GRAND

No, one was straight out of GT4, and the other is a genuine GTPSP screenshot. GT4M was probably the original developement name, but they decided on Gran Turismo PSP.

Trees

YES I win!

EDIT:

Damn the trees are there your just further back then the pic of GT4

We always knew this was a PORT though, so this is kind of expected

Still, what a great juxtaposition.

But this pic was what GT4:M was marketed with back then. This pic and the trailer was all we got for media back then. If you check out that trailer, the graphics were the same as the screenshot. It even has the animated bystanders.

@SiNiST3R

LOL That's why! It took me a whole 30 minutes trying to get the scene to look exactly the same and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I feel like such an airhead. I spelled Gran Turismo wrong AND I can't tell point A from B.:ouch:

Right, off to make a better pic now.

What they did when the game was a Concept was take images from GT4 and letter boxed them to a PSP screen to give an idea of what the Port may look like or similar too, however the shots are of GT4 not GTM or GT PSP whatever you call it.

@ CaptCalvin

Yeah, just think how much better its going to look :)

Wow, the screeshot and the trailer had everyone fooled then huh? So they really haven't started when they said they were almost done! Strange thing though, what I have noticed is that the graphics in said trailer is noticeably inferior to GT4 graphics. "Reflections" were rendered in the same way they are rendered in what we got for GTPSP.

If you remember, GT4:M was promised to be a "carbon copy" of GT4 after all.

@ CaptCalvin

Its a "Port". The trailers etc were done well before development finished (first trailers were done 5 years ago), and they were rendered on Dev hardware. As you can see the coding is the same for GT4, this IS a Port So any gameplay video that was made to rep GTm gameplay back a few years ago (Not the OBVIOUS pics, and vid clips with GT4 Prefixed on the bottom, as thats a DEAD give away the shots are from GT4) were displayed on Dev hardware using the GT4 source code. They didn't need to actually use a PSP, and they wouldn't as it would not look As good. Images and clips get enhanced quite a bit before trailer launch on top of that.

That says It All....

HOWEVER

As you can see from the OP Shots, this IS GT4 on the PSP

Well, my thoughts were that it was the same situation as Midnight Club 3. All versions were released under the same name, hence the GT4 logo on the screenshot. Also, the game was supposed to be released soon after the launch of the PSP, which means that they already had most of it done when it was announced and that there is a chance that GTPSP back then MIGHT be, or close to what they said it would be and what they made it look like.

Nope That was a Screener from GT4 all the way ;)

They were not even close to finished when the PSP was launched. Those were allot of concept shots/vids back then, visualizing GT4 on the PSP system.

GTPSP was thought to be an easy Port to the PSP because of the systems similar abilities to the PS2 system, however the Port proved to be much more complicated then originally anticipated, as well it was pushed back due to development of other games (GTHD, GT5p, GT5)

THE house on the top of the hill ..!!!It's like they demolished it sence GT4 ..

They are totally Trying to see what that loud BBBBRRRRAAAPPPPPPP BBRRRAAAPP.!!!!sound is coming Down from the HILL..THe Dude in the black shirt is saying to his buddy in the white shirt Quick get out your camera its the white ghost of Costa di Amalfi .Then the guy with the light purple shirt&white hat is Saying Some Say His testicles are made from Titanium and that his under-pants are carbon-fibre. Some say, he's actually dead. ... AND I come flying by them in my ENZO Ferrari at 170mph

Though the screenshots from GT PSP taken directly from the frame buffer look awesome, they show a lot of aliasing.

Since we know that GT PSP uses a form of temporal anti-aliasing, would it be possible to capture two consecutive frames and blend them together, thus eliminating the aliasing?

Also, GT PSP is advertised as having 60FPS, but does the temporal AA mean that the actual framerate is halved, because it uses every other frame for AA?

Love the shots though, whish I had CFW for my PSP 3004. 👍

No, it runs at 60FPS, and for every frame, the picture is moved back and forth 1 pixel.
