Spotter arrows- am I missing something?

I have noticed that I don't see spotter arrows on my screen to warn me that another car is next to mine, like GT6 had. Does GTS have them as an option and I'm just missing them in the setup menus? I like to race clean (especially given the new system of Sportsmanship letter grades) and they'd be a big help. Thanks!
 
I drive in "hood" mode. Under the center tac there is a rectangle. On the bottom left and right side of the rectangle there are warning flashers that will pop up when a car is next to you (left side will light up if a car is on your left and vise versa).

There is also a "radar" that you can bring up in the area that has your TC setting/brake bias etc.

Not sure if this applies to all views, but supposedly a subtle vignette effect gets applied to the bottom left or right corner of the screen if a car is approaching you on that side.
