The Cadillac STS has a facelift in the works, likely for the 2008 model year. The big four-door gets a new, Escalade-inspired grille treatment, with a more detailed chrome treatment and a subdued mesh grille. The STS's new face looks much lighter and more expressive than the current model's - a subtle but effective update. New taillights ditch the full red lenses, in favor of styled LED lamps that complement the STS's chiseled lines. The clear lenses have only a sliver of red reflector at the inside edges, but separate vertical LED strips glow red (braking) or orange (turn signals) in a truly eye-catching display. It appears that two additional reflective red strips have been added between the tailpipes, but it's unclear whether this is a final production application, or merely a safety add-on for testing purposes. We expect similar updates to be applied to the CTS and SRX models, to tighten up Cadillac's revamped family look.

The cadillac lineup looks like the same turd passed 6 different ways.

I honestly cannot tell the difference between an STS and a CTS on the street.

haha me neither...but if i saw an '05 STS and an '08, then id be able to tell the difference.

just figured id share with those that wanted to see :)

Now, if I would have said what you just said, Omnis, I'd get slammed for it. This is despite the fact I claim to hate Cadillac. I actually thing this test car actually has some promise to its looks. It may be the first modern Cadillac I actually like. There's something about this model (even though it's a spy car) I may actually like. In Cadillac's attempt at world domination, this gives them a nice advantage.

I guess we shall see where Cadillac will take this machine. Will it be one I might actually like, or will it just give me more reason to scoff at and dislike Cadillac? We will certainly find out. Right, people?

At least Caddy's are selling as aposed to a lot of the GM line, and I think they are staying in the right direction. I know I would love to own a CTS, especially the LS7 V-version which has been rumored.

I like the "Lane Changes" sign, especially since i know the number of people who don't use their signals to do so!

I think they turned the styling down from about an eleven to an eight. Not to say it looks bad, but in current form, Id say it looks better. This version looks too much like the DTS, not enough like the racier CTS, XLR, and SRX.

...We will see what happens. I'm sure the production version will debut at New York.

Remember Caddy's are not exactly the 18 year old boy racer car, they are made for middle aged people who want to go some where in comfort. Save for the V models and even the regular CTS.

I agree with YSSMAN. If I had just seen the pictures alone, I'd be wondering why they're testing a model they already produce -- the DTS. :dunce:

Hell, I'm just saying what I feel. If it does wind up looking nice, then that would be cool. I'm not against aesthetic progress, nor do I have much against cadillac, but, it would be nice to see them turn out a line-up that displays a little more variety.

The STS looks okay by itself, though. No real complaints there.
