Hey, my name Ethan and i've been building my ks13 for close to 2 years now.
I basically just wanted to drift, so i thought an s13 was the best way to go.

Note: To clarify before the question is asked, in australia you cannot drive a turbocharged car in the first 4 years of having a license(also known as p-plates).

This is the day i bought it:

05092012001_zpsca5ab71f.jpg

Bone stock manual ca18de, headlights were ziptied in, crappy rattle can paint job, hicas (ew) and a horrible white dash mat. It did however have a 3A racing muffler and a legit carbon fibre bonnet.

First thing i did was put some Tein coilovers aswell as a hicas lock bar in and get a type x bumper!

05112012002_zpsb0b1f171.jpg

Shortly after The ca18de decided it couldnt go on anymore so i sourced an SR20DE out of an s14 silvia front cut, it looked like it had seen better days, however it only had 60,xxx km's on the odometer!

image_1352438004505702_zpsf3833edd.jpg

Whilst the swap was getting done i Also sourced some other goodies(too long ago to remember in what order, i'll post a spec list at the bottom)

After driving it to work and back i noticed alot of oil coming from the front of the head gasket so i decided to get a tomei HG aswell as some other tomei goodies to help with drift reliability

IMG_1967_zps37b70ca0.jpg

Cleaned it all up And to date it has been REALLY reliable and feels really strong, i always use either motul 300v 10w40 or penrite 10tenths 10w40.

Pure awesomeness. This thing is just cool all the way around.

Really sucks about the turbo rule though, I feel like you would have a pretty badass engine in the car at the moment if it didn't exist.

Haha thanks man! I like your 240 too, i only skimmed but does it still ha e a ka?

Yeah, i can drift mist street stuff fine NA, id just like a little but more for lower speed stuff.
Im pretty set on making this a sr20de+t next year regardless of the law.

if i get caught its pretty much a 6 month loss of license though :/

Thanks, yea for now. Still saving for a different engine at the moment.

Lmao I would just wait, It would suck not to drive 6 months. That's like prison basically =\. Were those S15 brakes easy to get? I forgot that's another good upgrade besides the Z32 and R33. You also have the wheel I've been trying to get, I know constantcollection keeps some in stock but I have to save .-.

Really love how onevias look especially with the kouki front end, actually onevias and coupes period. They look just so aggressive from any angle.

Well s15s are sold here, so theyre pretty easy to get.

Found the steering wheel at a local junk yard, even has a "super autobacs second hand product" sticker on it :P

Onevias are a rather rare sight. Nice find.
Although i don't see the aerodynamic appeal of removing the back-side and the rear window and showing the front of your car's exoskeleton.
Although the front bumper is probably being resprayed seperately.

LMAO you remove the windows when you spray a car. Then they get put in and re sealed.

A onevia drifting somewhere in Japan

Onevia looks really good man! The parts list is great, bodywork looks fantastic and that colour will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Regarding the P plate laws, I heavily advise you not to turbocharge that car until you can legally drive it. The police target people who drive imports and the risk of getting stopped for a "random breathtest" and having your snail discovered is very high. Not to mention you are drifting it "somewhere in Japan" and there's nothing stopping a bystander calling them with details on your car. You can deny illegal drifting, you can't deny the prescence of a turbocharger when they pop the bonnet.

Good luck with it man, and head to a track based drift day sometime. No chance of getting caught, you get all day on the track, less risk of hitting something, the other drivers are great people and everyone loves giving tips, pointers and compliments. You'll improve a lot over the course of a day and it's the most fun you can have in a car! 👍

Haha, its not going to be my daily driver for too much longer, so the chance of getting caught is dramatically lower.
Stupid law in the first place, the aspiration of the car does not dictate whether you will die or not in event of an accident.

Dont get me wrong, i have done legal drift days(vids on account) but street will always have a place in my heart.

In regards to everyone at the track being friendly, this is flat out untrue. In Victoria anyway.

Everyone I've ever met at a drift day was really good, but of course experiences will vary.

I'm not supporting the law at all, it held up my 300zx project for 2 years and I hated every moment, but I think it's a silly thing to risk your license for. It's not just a 6 month loss, (in SA) it's the time of good behaviour afterwards that sucks. You could be stuck with no demerits for an extra few years for a complete loss. Some people I know can't get their full license until they turn 25, and they're certainly regretting breaking pointless little laws.

So i finally got my car back.

Here are some pics (excuse the missing indicator, tape and headlight covers.)

The two tone is my mates silvia he just bought, its pretty tidy, its a shame hes going to learn to drift in it.

Haven't updated this in a while,

The bottom end bearing went just before christmas which forced me to buy a daily.

AE90 corolla, it needs some better suspension, steering wheel, head unit and a cluster with a tacho... but all in all shes not bad.

Unsure if im going to keep the onevia on the road. The reg runs out in may, or i can get club permit on it before the 31st.

I'm currently trying to source an s15 sr20det block and conrods in good condition for the onevia.
Going to be rebuilding it, and putting my na pistons in for high comp and run a standard t28 setup.
Some piece of mind parts also include ACL race bearing, tomei sump, new timing chain kit and a new tomei head gasket and a few more other bits.

I'm told on a standard ECU its good for 160rwkw at 6psi which is more than enough for me. With a nistune should see 180rwkw at 10psi.

I also bought a cage(not sure if said before but you need one to get on the track in victoria). It came up cheap and i figured id need it anyway.

10906435_762113180541305_4894912153589842569_n_zpse0c9efc7.jpg

I didn't know cages where mandatory at Victorian drift events. On this side of the border you only need one if you want to carry passengers.

Pretty solid plan you've got with the S15 block mate, should definitely get those rears smoking 👍

Hey again guys,

The silvia has been sitting around not doing much due to moving house twice and having a bit of strain on my bank account.

I've picked back up doing bits and pieces lately but cant do too much because im saving to go to japan with my GF(drifting at ebisu is on the cards). And ive only drifted the car once this year, which is killing me!

So the bottom bearing turned out to not be the bottom bearing knock went away, just went into thin air and now the car drives fine? didnt stop me from going out and buying an sr20det though....

12175821_893183374100951_1485701643_o_zpsdiyhwyff.jpg

Just after i got into my new house(the 2nd) the GF and I decided to go to the mountains and see some snow since i had never seen snow before, ofcourse i took the silvia!

Then i finally got enough spare change to swap out the old crappy tein HR coilover for some brand new Blitz zzr's.

My GF also got me custom plates for my birthday, vicroads(My states RTA/DMV) released "retro jdm" plate style and these are pretty cool. Theyre also the same dimensions as real japanese plates so they fit the bumper HEAPS better! heres a link to see the style better for yourself

https://www.vplates.com.au/japanese

She got me the combination NO-240 because she would always laugh whenever i told her someone called my car a 240sx on the internet again.

I also got the buckled front wheel i had straightened out which was always a slight downer whenever i had to use the freeway as it would cause heaps of vibration, and when i went to put the wheel back on the car the valve started leaking, so i thought if im going to take the tyres off i might aswell put some new ones on.

12179327_893183334100955_1865591590_n_zpswwavmubs.jpg

I also knew that if i wanted to go lower than i was before i would have to go for a smaller size, so i ditched the 225/45/17 tyres and got some federal 595 rs-r's in 215/40/17

So my buddy fitted them up and it took it to the alignment shop and heres some photos i took at the shop with the new ride height!

12180214_893176814101607_1250405905_n_zpsbrolqf9o.jpg

And let me tell you, with all of those things done, its a new car! it handles and drives amazingly!

the car hadnt been washed in close to 9 months so i took it down with a friend and his s14 and took these.

12179263_893176880768267_687914170_n_zpspjbcs4nf.jpg

Thats pretty much all for now, and sorry again for the potato photos :P

That rear end Is just beautiful. The car's blue just goes so well with those lights man.

Surprised you still have the stock exhaust =P.

I honestly did not know blitz still made coilovers for the s13, I was gonna get pbm's but may consider them if they let me do custom spring rates.

What's funny is I sometimes see a Silvia just like that blueish one on my way to school. I'm pretty sure it has P-plates too.

I love the Onevia. The Sileighty always seemed a little silly to me. Take the slower car and put the less nice front end on it. The Onevia however is the faster car with the nicer front end.

So is it counted as a Silvia or a 200SX on documents etc., or is it just "Nissan Coupe"
