Anyone else think that wheelie glitching completely destroys any purpose of tuning a car for top speed and instead replaces it with slapping a tune with min front/max back aero, super extended gears, and a simple ride height adjustment? Myself like to tune cars following some actual logic, instead of exploiting an in-game bug. I like to tune a car to go as fast as possible on it's own without that unrealistically strong slipstream effect always used in the online races, as such I don't have super tall gears and these nonsensical tunes. I was wondering who thinks alike.

It also kills the online for who doesn't wheelie glitch/doesn't know how to. It's a defect in the game and must be corrected.

facepalm. no. just...no.

Me too, i don't like using unrealistic slipstream and aerodynamics for reaching high top speed.

I agree with you.

I don't think I understand what you're saying. How does being able to wheelie effect tuning or online racing?

So... What's the issue here?

Im just guessing here but maybe he wants to do a wheelie but not by tuning to ridiculous extremes, like he mentioned. Doing a wheelie in the game is more of a glitch/exploit than anything real.

You should be able to max your bhp and pop a wheelie from a stand point rather than the current method.

To do that without glitching the game physics you'd need at the very least significantly more grippy tires than Racing Softs and a more grippy road than the surface of the typical GT5 track.

So are you telling me using stupid more-than-unrealistic settings to reach speeds that the car couldn't otherwise by making the rear wheels press on the ground and raising the front a lot is good? Using this glitch one can raise the top speed of certain more susceptible to this glitch cars by about 80 kph. It's not only about giving an unfair advantage, it's just down right ridiculous. The car would just fly and flip like the CLR at Le Mans 1999.

In nine out of ten cases you'll find that you can be faster on the straights using the "glitch", but lose out dramatically in the bends with a car that's potentially also completely incapable of cornering at anywhere over 200mph. Sometimes this will also be the case in a straight line, where the car will not respond at all during very high speed.
Personally I couldn't care less what method people use to hit their top speeds, so long as they drive fair and without smashing me off the track. I generally use the SL600, which is capable of over 270mph without draft, and without any funny suspension settings or wings - geared right it'll even keep up with all the lmp's even up to 340+mph in the draft.

Speeds of over 700mph have been reached in the X2012, and there's a few videos on Youtube showing it.

I agree that it is unrealistic, but at the same time, I wouldn't want it fixed as it's actually pretty good fun.

I saw a video on youtube, where a guy hits the "soundbarrier" @ 800 kmh.
he hit 926 kmh.

here is a link:

Huh, that's weird. The "sound barrier" in that clip occurs at around 780, which, in mph, corresponds to 346 m/s; very close to the normal figure for the speed of sound at sea level. In km/hr, though, it's only around 217 m/s. Did they get it wrong?
That would make transmission times in GT5 generally too long, meaning they're using too much memory to give the impression of delayed sound. Free memory on the table! (Probably very little, I doubt they're buffering actual sound channels, just control data instead).

Looks like they need to adjust their buffering system to account for "supersonic emission", too (the fact it "breaks" should give clues as to how they actually do their "buffering"). It's very funny, of course.

Please excuse my ignorance, but where abouts is special stage route x found in the list of tracks? I was expecting to find it in "original" tracks but there is no sign of it.

i found out that i can easy pull a wheelie in A-spec but i can't online... i heard it was patched out ... why would someone patch that out , it's like sucking all the fun out of a game...

You have to buy it first and it's in "original" tracks.
