well with forza 4 around the corner i think PD has to step it up a lil with moving standard cars to premium n hopefully add new tracks n features.im not a forza fan but its looking pretty damn good cmon pd step it up please opinions n feedback welcome please

I agree with Pennywize, they better give us some sort of new content, even if all it is is standard cars made into premium! PD has been quiet of late, but still busy, I think they are working on something, theywould be silly not to release some sort of update around the time when FM4 comes out to steal their show a bit!

thanks for feedback keep it coming n yes even if they thaught of it they should put some ideas in writing to ease the community

I think that when Forza's close to being placed on the shelves, PD should release a HUGE update w/premium-ized cars, new tracks and more A-Spec content. I'm thinking they should take all Seasonal Events from the past and revive them and add them to the roster of A-spec races.

If only it were that simple, we probably won't be seeing the same amount of Premium cars as the total number of Standard cars currently included when GT6 is released.
To make a Standard car into a Premium car means remodelling it from scratch, or to put it simpler, they can't use the Standard car to create a new Premium model so they have to make roughly 6-800 new cars (depending on what's regarded as a fully different car) and each Premium car takes about 5-6 months to create.
So that won't happen for GT5, and I doubt it will happen for GT6.

Well they don't have to premiumize EVERY standard car because there are already 10,000 Skylines, Toyotas, etc. but only one DeLorean, Eagle Talon, Tank Car, etc. Not to mention we need the E30 M3.

I think they'd be better off releasing some new cars (Audi R18, the new Lambo, 150 Italia) rather then updating old cars, because it'd have a bigger WOW factor.

But they should release some new tracks for sure, or rather, some old tracks that got remade.

I highly doubt they'd transform standard cars into premium ones but I could see new tracks, cars, livery editor, etc..

I want McLaren MP4-26 Formula 1 Cars, actually more Formula Cars in general would be great. If they add McLaren, Red Bull, Sauber Mercedes, would be great. Although I could just buy the F1 game.

This, mate. 👍:) Adding new RW tracks is essential in keeping the GT series competitive and a cut above that "other game".

Did you read the AUP if not may i suggest you do before the mods see your thread. 👍

I think if they made a class in between standard and premium where you could change the wheels it would make people a lot happier.

Nonsense... 👎

Good shout mate, i'm sure it was stated just after release that each premium took around a month to create.

However, i'm guessing this included physics, sounds etc which of course have already been done for the standards.

If they had started shortly after release with a few teams working at the same time, they could have completed quite a few by now.

My own opinion is that they'll not improve any of the standards but if we're lucky they will add some brand new premiums at some stage. I would prefer completely new cars over rehashed existing ones.

yes premium cars and new tracks is 1 thing every1 wants to see. GT6 is not a option considering it took 6 years to make this game PD would be very dumb not to listen to the community n help move this game foward

With the way the gaming business goes about these days, PD releasing extra content around the time Forza is almost done is the smart thing to do to keep market share.

Better to do something than nothing when it comes to $$$.

i'd love PD to get their hands on a licence to get some porsches' in the game as DLC but i doubt that will happen, some premium LMP and GT cars would be sweet.

^Speaking of Porsche, there has to be a deeper reason why the crew at Zaufhaussen (Spelling?) never jumped into GT, perhaps one of the most recognizable games out there.

Did Kaz make fun of Dr. Ferdinand? Does he think Porsches are just Beetles with spoilers?

It's the great mystery of every GT player.

It's Zuffenhausen and I don't think there's any deeper reason or mystery behind it other than an exclusive license deal with EA.
They've included the Kübel and Schwimmwagen in GT5, the original Beetle and Auto-Union in GT4 (all four designed by Ferdinand Porsche) and the inclusion of Ruf since years also shows enough I reckon.
Heck, Kaz drives a Porsche himself (or at least owned one for some time).

Actually, the graphics in Forza Motorsport 4 lay down the graphics of GT5.

I hope they are preparing a major uptade to at least try to overshadow the launch of Forza 4!

Let's wait and see!

Hey where did you get that info from?

The graphics from FM4 looks better that GT5 when it comes down to the auto vista feature. The racing gameplay will be quite the same but it will have improved texture quality and the brand new engine with the cars not increased polygon count like you see in the auto vista feature.

They're still undecided wether or not there will be a dlc. I would guess if they make lots of premium I'm sure they'll add some in GT5. If not we'll just see it in GT6. Does anybody believes that the Forza series will be the new king of all racers?

i really want brands hatch to be in there, i lived next to it for all my life and would love nothing more than racing cars around it in gt5

Not so.

Provided the standard cars are accurate, it should be possible to use them as a low-res cage for a high-poly, current gen mesh. By no means would that make it a one-day affair, but getting a very accurate base mesh is a pain in the backside and can take a long, long time. That, and there'll be some form of unwrapping on them already, anyway.

You have two options:

Buy the F1 game

Hope and pray to whatever god/s you believe will gave a toss, that PD will include a Formula Gran Turismo 2011 Edition. The old FGT was a ~2002 car visually and aerodynamically; the wings being a dead giveaway, but with a considerable lack of detailing around the sidepods showing it, too. A new Forumla GT could include a smaller, higher revving engine than the old 3.5L V12, wide front wing, narrow/tall rear wing, better performance on smaller, slower narrow tracks, and enough colours to make a grid look interesting.

Actually, it appears they will be updating the car meshes this time for in-game - in F3 they only used the hi-poly models in the 3 second countdown before replacing the models themselves with F2 ones when you're in control of the car. The bad news is, if you couldn't tell the difference between the models before/after the countdown in F3, you won't be able to tell the difference between the old F3 in-game models and the new F4 in-game models.

Though, the biggest improvement seems to be the lighting and textures; they've got (or had, contracts have expired...I hear) some people who know what colour balance is, so even with the old models they look 10x better because the light behaves itself this time.

Good info sir! Yea I'm sure all the have to do is use tesselate their current standard car models to the same quality as the premiums and just create the interior views, update the headlights, back lights and so on. I don't think it would take as long to create a premium from scratch like you said the base models is what takes probably the longest.

And the car's physics engine has to be updated to the current.
