Standard physics???

Does anyone actually enjoy playing GT5 in standard physics mode? It´s like being in a slot car. And the difference between professional mode with active steering and proffesional mode without active steering is almost as great as the difference between standard and profesional mode! Ok, so I´m really no good at this game. After like 40 -50 hours of trying S-10 - in professional mode without driving aids -I can hardly get around the track and so far my best placement has been 13th! I´m starting to think that without the steering wheel it is very difficult to evolve in GT5.
