After years of rumouring, the successor of Warhawk was finally revealed last week. I've put an unhealthy amount of game time into Warhawk and I still play it from time to time (provided that PSN is up :sly:). So I'm really, really, really looking forward to this new title, which appears to have some interesting new gameplay elements.

Can't wait. I love Warhawk, even though I'm awful at it. One thing I'm worried about is how much the good players from Warhawk are going to dominate, because on Warhawk I can't get near them at all.

Same for me, until I discovered the rookie servers :) , there I can regularly fight for a top rank.

From what I could figure out from the gameplay trailers is that to flying itself, probably not much would change controller-wise exept for those who use the six-asis function to fly, which would not be supported anymore. But yeah, I think too that the really good warhawk pilots will dominate the skies from the beginning.

Ground combat seems a bit different from Warhawk, so that will be more new to everyone, especially with the new Building system.

I don't know about you fryto, but I don't want too much to change from warhawk. One thing i'm not so sure about is the over the shoulder view. On one hand it could help accuracy in heated gunfights, but it could also slow the combat down, which would be dissapointing.

I also really hope they keep the ranking system the same, because to get to the top rank you have to be incredibly dedicated over a number of years, which I haven't experienced in any other game.

Dylan Jobe has been answering questions on the playstation blog and one of them was about this over the shoulder view. He said that players will not be restricted to that view and you only need to use it if you want to 👍

Thanks for letting me know, thats very good news!

On a sidenote, why are we the only two on this site that are excited by this game? :odd::p

I also expected some more excitement, as I thought that quite some forum members were Warhawk fans...
But the game is still kind of far away with a '2012 unspecified' release date, so maybe the heat will be turned on a bit later during the year, who knows.

In any case I'm looking forward to see what they will bring to E3 this year. The game is confirmed to be featured there 👍

I am still excited about the first game, but I never got to play it because I never had my own internet connection. I'm still annoyed about them taking single player out of the first game. Just like most games with in depth online modes don't give us bots any more. It sucks. Maybe I'll get around to playing this.

Personally, I didn't miss single player in the first one. Basically I'm going to buy Starhawk for the multiplayer. The single player story comes as a bonus feature for me :)

I agree, i'm also buying it for the multiplayer, but I can understand how annoying it would be if I didn't have online.

"rich new world...fenomenally exciting... Warhawk was loved all over the world by all our fans...a brand new standout approach to the shootout gengre...our exciting new system...customize in a fast, violent, brutal way...players love it...fast-paced, quick and brutal...infinitely replayable..."

Did you all get that boys?

Never in my life have I seen someone that needs to get laid more badly than that dude. He takes the already ridiculously relentless gamingindustry hype to another level.

According to one of Dylan Jobe's tweets, a new multiplayer video should hit the Playstation Blog today 👍

It's standard video game marketing practice these days to shove the lead designer into a cubicle for some unwanted PR video recording.

You'd prefer a "SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAYYYYYYYYYY" glitzy eye rape of a trailer instead of a more detailed explanation of the core gameplay and story?

Get over yourself.

Starhawk looked pretty cool. All I've ever played from the franchise was the demo to "Warhawk: The Red Mars Missions." (or whatever it was called). It was a very interesting game. Sometimes, my comments on things may seem generic, but it was a very nice looking game to me.

No, I don't prefer that either. I would prefer people in PR to improve from the current level of "oh, they got really tired when I talked loud and stopped listening? Well I guess I should SHOUT THE MESSAGE AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS INSTEAD!"

Since the gaming pr is only getting worse, someone should tell them they look like jerks because obviously they don't possess any self-critisism type abilites that would help them understand by themselves.
