Start up help

I played GT 3 & 4 extensively. Would've had 100% if not for ice and dirt and golded almost all the license tests. Went through 5 DFP wheels also. My daughter got me a PS3 160, a new GT wheel and GT5 for Christmas and I never set it up since we were moving from TX to MN and I didn't want to get involved with the setting up, tearing down etc.. But now it's up and running and I just got got internet access today. I'm at level 17 and just kind of playing around. 2 questions-- My other wheels calibrated at start up just like this one but there is no harsh CLUNK-CLUNK at the very end of the calibration like the old ones. Is this normal calibration for the GT wheel now ? Question 2 -- When I initiate the internet itegration with the PS3 later will the updates and patches just flow in a easy to follow format or do I need to do anything special ?
