Using the X1
2 fellas.
Lots o' beers. 👍

Currently @
4 hrs. 25 min.
90th lap
18 laps up
Fastest lap time: 2.22.9

Morale is high. Food supply good.

How goes it guys? How went your race? Fastest lap?

I don't see what there is to discuss here, other than X2010 lap times. Is that it?

In a X1? I feel sorry for you. My brain fries after trying to do a few laps with my X1.

But I guess, you only have to run like 18 ish hours and you can park it and still win.

Do you know what time or laps exactly you need to achieve to park it? That would be handy to know. :)

We're just doing two hour intervals while watching some Chappelle stand up at the moment.

You plan to complete this in one sitting with a bunch of beers?

X2010? Boo. 👎

I just thought we could banter back n' forth a bit about the race itself, cars used, strategies to beat the nodding of the head lol the usual...

It's 2am here in Wisconsin and I thought maybe some fellas would be doing enduros as well :)

Apologies if I misplaced this thread!

please tell me you guys are driving with wheel, gamepad is so bad for x2010 or it's just me :S

Kinda ya. haha

Going the fun old school route. Knock it out in one sitting, just me and a good bud, good convo over a few suds into the wee hours of the night. :)

Had a free weekend to chill and catch up.

He should get some Red Bulls to down as well. No pun intended :dopey:

Been thinking about doing that 24h race for a while... But I don't think I'll do it in the X2010. If I'm gonna spend 24 hours in a single race, I want it to be close and thrilling, not 24 hours of essentially time trial (which it will be if you're in the X2010, because there's no race anymore). Unless you start the race, park the car, go to bed, sleep 6 hours and then start. That could be an interesting challenge.

D Pad. Keeping it old school. :D

I see what you did there, noice. :sly: We actually went the Monster route. you know, low carb n' all ;)

I hear ya. I enjoyed the challenge of the FGT series but totally agree with what you're saying. it really is a time trail when using the X1. We're going back n' fourth trying to beat each others lap times for drinks. It's pretty fun so far. :)

The leading AI do aprox 374 laps so i suggest you park up at 380 and just keep an eye on it. Dont forget to finnish the race you must go over the finnish line even if you have done a lot more laps.

Why the X2010? Is it for the safety of knowing it's going to be very hard to lose?

I'd like to do this race in the same style (although not with the X2010); some pals, few beers and the browser open on GTP so I can relay race proceedings.

I'm going to wait until I've a wheel before I attempt this though. My favourite race is the 4 hour Nurburgring so for the 24 I want to do it with a proper wheel set up, driving 3-4 hour stints with friends.

I think I'd use the Zonda R or a similarly awesome car for this race, as long as it is premium.

I did this race a few days ago in the x1, on my own and it took me 26 hours to do in total, stopping only for food and the loo. In response to your wondering about how long you need to go before parking it it depends on your lead I found I went for about 18/19 hours then parked it and slept for four hours and woke up with still around a 20 lap lead and raced the final hour or so I had left. I would recommend pitting every 25 mins or so 👍

D Pad. Keeping it old school. :D
Daym man, that's intense, i couldn't even drive x2010 straight with d pad, every corner i make 7 tangent lines lol, no curve

My Le Mans story...
This story started a little while ago when i first reached level 35. I decided that it would be really cool to run the GT5 race while watching the real one on a little tv. So, a week later, i started the race at the exact same time as the real one in france. For 14 hours i ran sioultaneously with the real life race until i had completely ran out of energy. I was forced to pause and sleep for a while, throwing away my dream of a simultaneous race. Due to various distractions and a lot of procrastinating, By the end of the week, i was just 17 hours in and came home from football training to find the power had gone out. Needless to say, my power company got a very angry phone call and a few things got thrown. I decided, that rather then risk it again i would wait for the school holidays to try again...

So fast forwad to school holiday's, i was level 37 with two weeks of free time ahead of me. I decided, that this time there would be no pro-crastanating, i would finish the race as quickly as possible.
Monday- I got 5 hours done, laid down some good laps and had a few massive accidents with a certain couple of Vipers..
Tuesday- 7 hours done, the in game sun was well and trully don and the 787B was starting to look more like a black and white car then the interesting pallete it usually is
Wednesday Pt 1- I did some really good laps and killed 7 hours, i went to bed at 9pm thinking my work for the night was done. but..
Wednesday Pt 2- I had some time to think in bed and decided i wasnt that tired and another hour couldnt hurt. By 4am thursday morning, i was done, my renesis monster looking alot like it's "stealhy" brother :)

Good luck withh your race guys, the key is persistance and energy drink 👍

HUGE help! Thanks for the info! 👍

We're just using the X2010 to mash out laps and try and beat each others lap times. I totally get the challenge of beating the 24hr races with a car that's on par power-wise with the rest of the field, but I couldn't image losing this race after all that work. I'd go bonkers lol :dunce:

It's a beast! after you tame it though it's pretty fun to challenge friends lap times. I mean, we're 13 hours in now and still having fun trying to take out each others split times. they're are 7 including the finish line, and it's been going back in forth all night! Good fun.

Man I toooootally feel your pain with the power outage! I actually was living in India when I received this game and the power in my apartment went out literally every day for a few hours. So now, back state side, I can start doing all these enduros.

So far so good, a few lo carb monsters down the hatch and the second half has just started. We're at the 13 hour mark.

Morale is good. Food supply decent.
Uber tired but the race must go on!

Watched The big Lebowski and a few stand ups to keep the funnies going. :dopey:

Man I wish the AI would scale. It would be great if you entered a race with an X1 the AI would all get X1s. That would make the enduros a real accomplishment if you always had worthy opponents no matter what car you picked.

Couldn't agreed more man. 👍

This is what I posted earlier in another thread. Reposting here.

I am 2 hours 30 mins into my race, using the 787B. The only upgrades I have given it are R2 and R3 tires and also adjusted top speed to 250mph. I'm on lap 42 with a 21 second lead. Taking a break now to workout and then I should be back for more later. I hope to do another 3-4 hours by the end of the night. Top lap is 3'29.639.

So far I'm really enjoying it, the car is enjoyable to drive and the race itself is a challenge. It's been sunny the entire race but the shadows are starting to set in. I have little night driving experience in game so I'm excited for that but nervous. I've been as far back as 10th place and 1'50.00 behind. I've never used these types of cars before so it took about 10 laps to get used to it and to stop spinning the rear tires. Using racing softs right now but may switch to mediums or hards if I build a decent lead.

My brain couldn't handle the X1 for hours on end.

Hit a 2:20.2. Getting pretty impossible to break that 2:20 barrier. Eyes going crossed...

My brain is definitely fried. But it was epic fun. Lots of laughs and convo. The loser of the fastest lap time contest has to buy rounds next time we go out. Score. 👍
