So I just started to see what's going on when you racing online. First time of my life. OK, not easy to find a race with opponants in any time of the day but I finally suceed on Suzuka (small) with a Mini. We were 8 and it was so fun to be better than most of them, but not so easy !

But I was really disappointed as I was going to overtake the leader: Every time I started to overtake him in the straight, he just pushed me in the grass.

So after this firts race, I tried another time, with different opponants. That was the same sad scenario. I can't believe that these people have this childish behavior of racing.

I never pushed them and never tried to overtake them in the curves.

Am I naive or too honest ? I fell like they never have seen a real race before...

How do you experience the races ?

Other question: Is it normal that some cars are going suddenly and unrealistely from the left to the right of the track on the Speedway oval ?

Welcome to online racing my friend. Its been like that since the beginning, the only difference now is there are fewer hacks racing these days.

But don't let it shy you away, it can be really fun, just find one of us to race you.

If someone does that to me, I just spin them out the next time I get back to them. That is no way to race, and if they want to race like a child I will race them like a child. I don't put up with that kind of behavior on the track.

Good idea, but do they understand the message you sent to them at that moment ?
 
I think they get it, when their race car is going backwards while you drive off. lol

I can't say they get it or not. But it allows you to be free of attacks.
 
That really annoys me online.

Usually it's people in Tuned Clios on 650pp Suzuka Intermediate.

I just like showing off and proving who the best driver really is.
This is usually by drifting my Tuned Corvette (Courtesy of The Lion's Den) past them in the esses and storming past them.

That irritates them to hell.

The sudden movements are from lag
Don't you just love the sound of them zooming back and forth?
No need to answer, it's more a statement than a question.

You should drive the Pro races online. Most races there are actually clean.

That's true, but it isn't easy trying to race there with more than 2 people, at least that's my case...
 
I (almost) never resort to the same tactics as the punters. Instead I really try to beat them by driving fairly. I admit that I like to send them the rather childish "Did you notice that I beat you anyway" message afterwards if I in fact do beat them. Sometimes I also just send a message with the question "Why?". One time I even got an apology, most times they don't answer at all.

It's never right to sink to the same level in my book.


kekke2000 is also right, if you race the pro races and try to stick to the races where there are tagged drivers there will be much more fair racing (and faster too).
 
Race in the Pro races and we have different events where we tap in at a set time.
Check out the race events thread.
 
the expert events are better in this regard. much less punters there. too bad there isn't any good events in expert right now.
i always race clean and it pays off. many who tried to push or punt me off before dont attempt it any more.
 
His best bet would be PAL disc. Since NTSC online is almost dead.

It's really sad, actually. All the expert events are ghost tracks yet the Beginner's Daytona Superspeedway 2-lapper is always full.

How is that even fun? Two laps?? You might as well fire up Flower! Mash one button and steer around.

Very true, the beginner and intermediate races usually have pretty good traffic, many times in the Expert races it would be me and maybe 2-3 other guys if i was lucky. In the beginner and intermediate races, they FORCE you to use Standard Physics correct? That is why i tried, them and haven't gone back. I like the Professional races. Only problem i have with professional physics races is that when you do run into punters, there isn't really any catch-up to help you make up that lost time from being bumped/pushed around. :indiff: So you're stuck driving/racing alone. :dunce:
