starting a race from the rear

I do not like to be always leading a race, i like to start from the rear and see if i can catch the leader in 50 laps. It is nearly impossible to do this as almost every car tries to run you off the road, indeed sometimes they come at you at near right angles to get you. this is supposed to a realistic game and for the most part it is, but this part of the game is really disappointing. I gave GT6 away for the same reason, you either lead or you get run off the road
