do you guys usually keep the cars which you start with, and jack it all up. Or do you save your money to either buy a new car, or just supe up a prize car? right now i have some car which started with about 100hp, and right now it has 179hp, plus new brake system and aerodynamics. please help me out. :thatsodd:

Well, hello, sperry. Welcome aboard GTP, and enjoy yourself here!

What did you start with? Whether we advise you to keep it or not depends on what you're working with and how much you like it.

I have my first little Miata, which has had a fair amount of money dumped into it. I hardly ever drive it any more. I sold a number of my early prize cars to finance the Miata, which I think was kind of a mistake. For instance I ditched the RX-7 Infini, which can be quite fast and fun to drive.

Basically, I recommend you commit yourself to a couple different cars that you like and that meet the widest possible number of eligibilities. Sell anything that is redundant (for instance, I already had the Miata and that RX-7, so I sold the green Silvia right off the bat).

i started with a vitz. another thing, on a place like the test speedway, i max out at 130mph. i get going that fast, then my speed drops to 124, and i always end up losing becasue of it. i also have a miata in my garage, which i have done nothing to. so what can i buy, or should i save my money to put into the miata?

i started with the VW bug. Second car (not counting the trueno) was the Mustang Cobra SVT, well worth 30, u will blow by competition.

A Vitz is good to start. I'd keep it; it's eligible for a lot of different races, and handles well. What's happening on the speedway is you are hitting the rev limiter. After you have some more money, put a racing transmission in, and widen the gears out to let it turn slower.

If I was you, I'd get an oil change on the Miata, and add super slicks. Go run the Roadster Enduro (40 laps), and pit every 10 laps (or longer, if the tires are still yellow). Winning that will get you 100,000 credits and a shot at a nice prize car.

Good luck!

I spent quite a while getting my car (a PT Cruiser) built up into a 300+HP, 160 mph turbo monster that tore up quite a bit of the Beginner League. Nowadays I mostly just take it out for exercise on Complex String, but I may try tuning it to run in the Professional FF League.

You might want to do a search on "Roadster Endurance" and get some extra advice for that race, it'll save you some hair-pulling later on. ;)

Probably best to check out the Specs of your :mazda: MX-5 and :toyota: Vitz before you decide where to put your money :2cents:?

And welcome to GT Planet Sperry

I dont leave the **** cars alone i sell them. I started with the Trueno and it sucked but it came cheap and still gave me 4000 Cr to put into it. My second car was a Camaro and it was great at only 24000 Cr it was a bargain and I blew away the competition with just a few changes. It was and still is a great car.

I'm a fan of starting with the Mira, so I've used that for the Lightweight K, Sunday Cup, Clubman Cup, and FF Challenge before I buy my next car. However, in my recent quest for 100% wins & 100% gold, I began with the B-license Miata. That makes things a little simpler. I used it in the Sunday Cup, Clubman Cup, FR Challenge, NA Challenge, and Spider & Roadster races before going to another car and kept the mods very cheap overall after the 18K initial investment.

So use your first car, staying away from mods over 10K (tires are the only exception here) and trying to keep everything as cheap as possible, for as many races as you can. Then, buy yourself a nice second car (I highly recommend either the Honda Integra Type R or the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI RS) and go to town.
