Don't you just hate starting a race in your lobby with nearly a roomfull of international gamers and as you all await the start the screen stays black and everyone has to quit game to leave this is unpleasant and annoying.
Am I the. Only one to get cursed by this.

Everyone needs to stay in the pits until the start of the race :dunce:

Good to know. I used to park somewhere at the side and watch the other cars after having done my qualification. 💡

I see it happend sometime, but you just have to wait, and it will begin. i waited like 5 min yesterday with the blackscreen before the race started.

As time goes by, I'm finding this to be untrue. Some racers always stay in pitlane so it's not like everybody is out on track all the time; this is where the misconception has stemmed from, this "vocal minority."

Think about it: Going to the pits is one step from going to the lobby so pitlane is part way on the track and part way in the lobby. The game begins on the track, not in pitlane.
The real world conventions of preparing a car for the race with your team, mechanics etc. do not apply.

i dont find this i to be ture either...sometimes u go out on the track...you get the black screen and sometime you stay in the pits it still happens

so the problems has to be on the servers....probably!

it only takes one person to give everyone the black screen. especially if you have a slower connection jump in the pits as soon as the counter pops up. If everyone dose this ive noticed that the black screen is pretty rare.

You will not use ?textspeak? (?r?, ?u?, ?plz?, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.

ON TOPIC: 👍 Thats the explanation but don't worry! It might be fixed in Spec II! :)

The problem is the amount of data that needs to load in order to start the race and the amount of buffering going on. Think about it. If there are 6 cars out on the track when the room owner starts the race, all that data has to first be wiped, then re-written to allow for an even start for all participants. If everyone is patiently sitting in the pits waiting for it, everyone is already at the same level, that data hasn't been written yet, so the servers have an easier and faster job of grabbing all the data needed for all racers to jump to the race start screen.
An individuals internet speed has a huge bearing on all this as well, obviously.
