Starting Over Strategies?

Knowing what you know now, what things would you do differently if you started a new career?

I started another account with the intent of eventually starting another career and doing things differently. One thing I wanted to do differently is use cars earned in license tests, etc. But, I found the game won't allow you to do anything until you buy a car. So I guess I'll try to think of a <$20,000 car that I have to eventually buy anyway? Any suggestions on that?
 
Buy a kart, do the licenses, sell the kart, forget about the few lost credits, and play the game the way you want to play it 👍

Edit: Just realised no point selling the kart, because as soon as you reach a-spec lvl 1 the game gives you a kart anyway.
 
I wouldnt waste as many credits on cars I'm only going to use once or twice :/

I would definitely be more careful about which cars I would buy, maybe keep a closer look at the UCD in order to save money, knowing what cars are neccesary. Keeping an eye on good deals for races that will come around later in the game. Also, I tend to have a 'main' car, I would really put thought into what car that should be, in order for it to be eligible for the most possible races.
 
skip A-spec entirely, except the few that are really interesting.

I had that idea aswell I was going to try get through without buying cars. Only upgrading ones I earned but I didn't know I had to buy one straight off so I never tried.:boggled::dunce:
If I had known I would have got the Penniless trophy straight off but I didn't know about it when I first played and now I have too much money now to just buy random stuff till I hit 0cr which is kinda something I wish I hadn't done but if I started again I'd go for that trophy first.
