Well, I just bought State of Emergency, and it is pretty cool, but nothing to rave about. The graphics are similar to GTA3, only the levels are far smaller.
The sheer number of people running around is actually quite amazing, but they aren't really doing anything other than zig zag around.
I'll enjoy the game, but I would have enjoyed it as much as a rental from Blockbuster. :(
 
I like the game. There's nothing like picking up some guy's head and smashing in a window with it. Yes, the levels are smaller, but this game isn't supposed to be like GTA3 (so many comparisons to it, so little time).
 
I've only seen a few previews and screenshots for this game, but from what I have seen it looks pretty good, although it also looks very similar to GTA3.

Personally I doubt I will buy it because I have GTA3, and I am waiting for The Getaway to be released in the UK later this year.
 
I didn't mean to imply that this game is anything like GTA3, I just meant that the graphics are similar (Styling and such) This game more closely resembles Dynasty Warriors 3 than any other game currently on the market.
Like I said, It's cool, but it falls short of what it could have been.
 
Ok, I was playing DW3, took a break to eat, and decided to post my opinion on both, so here goes:

Hmm, I don't really know how to say it. Ok, I'll say buy which for what you like.

Buy DW3 if you like:
-Ancient Chinese culture
-Weapon fighting (i.e. Soul Calibur)
-Riding horses, and even riding elephants
-Customizing characters/items/weapons

Buy SoE if you like:
-Modern/slightly futuristic culture
-Assualt rifles, such as M16, AK47
-Cutting off body parts
-Blood (which DW3 has no blood or cutting off body parts)
-Fast paced, non-customizing gameplay

Or, if you have the money, buy them both like I did :)
 
I played the game for a while at a friends house and most of the missions involved just killing people from different gangs which gets a bit boring after.
 
I have this game rented right now. It is basically a beat-em-up-by-whatever-means-possible type of game that involves a lot of button smashing. Basically, these are the types of missions:

-Hunt and kill one or more targets before the target flees to safety
-Find and steal an important item and return it to friendly agents or a safe-house base
-Escort and protect a friendly agent as they complete objectives
-Rescue a friendly agent or civilian
-Attack and destroy buildings

I suppose its fun at first, but after a while it gets boring as the missions don't offer any real variety. Chaos mode is fun though; in this mode you have a set amount of time to wreak havoc (kill people, destroy objects, etc...) to get points. There are also bonuses on doing a certain task from time to time and special objectives. Its all fun and well, but it would be better if it were multiplayer.
 
Yea this game isn't the best. I can't wait to get a ps2 burner, then i can just rent games and copy them! Back to topic: the game is stupid. All you do is run around killing EVERY1!
