Static link to last page / latest post

Hello fellow members, I've looked around the search results a bit and came up with nothing I was looking for. If this has been covered already in the last millennium please slap me silly and point me in the right direction.

There's a few threads here that I check up regularly via bookmark, I was wondering if there is a static link that will bring me to the newest post (or last page)?

I noticed that properties of the "last page" link is constantly updated to the newest page so saving such a link will have no benefit what so ever...

Your best option is to click the
firstnew.gif
icon. This'll take you to the first unread post in each thread.

You could also use the last post
lastpost.gif
button to go to the last post in the thread.
 
As daan pointed out, the URL of the 'NEW' icon is what you're looking for. It is 'static' and does not change, regardless of how many pages or replies the thread receives. So, if you see the icon, just bookmark that address. If you can't see the icon, you can form this URL yourself by simply adding &goto=newpost to the end. This thread's "first new post / last page" URL, for example, would look like this:

I came here after using the iPhone app since I liked the way it jumped to the last viewed post...

I've been using forums going on 15 years now... And I totally missed the fact that the [NEW] icon was actually a button.

I was searching through UserCP looking for a preference option... :)
