Because i passed my Full Licence test this morning!

Which basicly means i can now carry passengers who are not just part of my immediate family, i have no 'curfew' (sp?) and well... i'm not on my Restricted licence anymore. (which is a very good thing)

Only did one thing wrong and that was going a little wide while turning left into some streets. (and jumping off the back of a car transporter ;))

I also got another crimminal looking mugshot for my photo drivers licence, which i should have in about 21 days.

P.S. I posted this same topic at the GTF first instead of the other way round. ;)

I'll remember that advice if I ever go to Dunedin! :p

We have to display an L in black with a yellow background if we're a learner over here...

That's gotta be a pisser. If I had to do that I'd hopefully have a Lantis or Millenia L and make it look like 1 sicker instead of just a L.

Atleast we don't have to do that here.

do you have 2 put the sticker on YOUR car? i don't want no "L" sticker on my new paint job or my bumper

It's more of a sign or something. It comes off.

And then when we get the P plates we put a red one on for i think one year, then a green one for the next year, and then you can just go free...:|

The "plates" can just be magnetic, or you can put them hanging under the license plate.

Maybe if you're in NSW you can disguise them as part of the license plate. Same colour, right?

haha
Over here in BC, once you hit 16 years, you go take a written test, if you pass w/ 80% or more, you get an "L"
This is a Red magnetic card that you place behind the car
after 6 months, you can take the 1st road test to get your "N"
The "N" is a green magnetic plate
two more years, you take the highway test, and if you pass, no more plates!

What happens if you don't put the magnetic L on the car?

Yet worse, what if you have a Saturn or other plastic or fiberglass car?

haha.. true
If you don't put the magnetic L on the car, and you get caught *pfft, like that's ever gonna happen!* then they'll fine you, and take away..... 3 of ur... 4points... * i forget what those points are called*.
If you have a plastic/fibreglass car, theres always the option of using suction cups and hanging the sign from the suction cups..

that's dumb. Though there are some driving schools in the US that require signs/stickers on the car, more than 1. I would quit right then if they wanted me to put that crap on my car.

Luckily in the US, learning how to drive is done at your closest parking lot, neighborhood streets, or on the freeway. :)

On what halfracedrift said: It's akin to driving without a license (not plates - a license) and subject to heavy scolding. I wouldn't even risk it.

When you get your learner license, you have to display a large black 'L' on a yellow background. They have to be anywhere on the back of your car and front. They must be viewable from at least 50m.

The ones you can buy in the shops are stickers, that you can put in your windows, they just peel off, and can be used over and over again.

But I made my own ones, using some clearfile sleeves and printing out my own L plates.
