so i just got myself a bunch of psp stuff and among it all i decided to try out Madcatz's "stealth case", usually im wary of such things because ive gone through 4 of the plastic "lids" that screw into the top and flip down over the front, though i liked the feel and look of these screen protectors they were very fragile and always came detached from the top so i gave up, when i saw this case and noticed it didnt need to be attached at the top i decided to give it a try and heres what i think, anyone else whos tried this or other cases feel free to chime in... its black aluminium case that the psp fits snugly into with no screws or clips. its hinged at the top and the lid which has two slots to store memory cards on the inside, closes and clips into place, all plugs are accessible with the case on but i havent tried any usb device that require the two screw holes on top, the case also has a clear plastic insert that clips in (took some figuring out) and covers the screen, works with or without this plastic though... there is even a door on the back to allow for umd insertion and inside that door is a small piece that flips out to make a stand for watching movies.
its holding up well despite riding around in my bag most of the time with all sorts of other crap, some small scuffs but it covers most of the psp so its doing its job... some would say it makes it too bulky but it doesnt bother me any because it still fits in a loose pocket , i like the heavy feel too but i imagine some wouldnt like that as well. i think it improves the feel for playing games as its a little thicker. even with the plastic part covering the screen visibility is great and the buttons are all comfortable maybe even more so.
it does has its problems though and some can be quite annoying, the umd door clips the same way that the front does but it comes open quite easily (a little better now as i bent the clip slightly in so its tighter) also, and this is a big one, the front part of the case that opens up does not have any stops on its hinges so its either open or closed, since it swings 180 degrees if you want to play lying on your back or holding the psp straight up then the lid will slam on your fingers
this is one thing i liked about the cheap face plates but its not too big of a deal for me, on that note the psp is easy to remove when the plastic part isnt in but since i leave it on all the time its a little more difficult to get the thing out. the positives on this one far outway the cons IMO.
pros... price, acessibility of plugs and buttons no need to remove case ever, protects almost all of the psp, features, comfortable enough to use all the time, protects screen even when in use.
cons... maybe to bulky/heavy, umd door unclips easily, front door does not have any hinge stops, not so easy to remove psp if you need to
all in all the best case ive ever tried, and a good 20$ buy
sorry for the long post let me know what you think
