I think its worth sharing this work around for those affected. For anyone in North america or a less populated region having trouble finding a game on PC (steam).
Change your download region in steam settings. This fixed the problem for me, I went from 2 servers to 50+ changing to London UK. Might come at the expense of a bit of lag playing overseas but much easier to find a game.
