Steering issue?

Noticed another bizarre issue or is it a standard feature of the game - any car I pick seems to steer like it is in mud then eventually exponentially veers off if I hold the direction pad down.

GT4 works as a real car: turn the wheels to turns, does GT3 always feel like your steering a tractor through wet cement??
 
Same with me. I think that's how the game works. It's an older tech after all.
 
Strange. I've never had the problems you're describing. The steering shouldn't feel too difficult. If it's your first time playing GT3, whether in a long time or first in general, then you may have to become re-acclimated with the physics.
 
Different physics engine and GT4 was designed for a 1080degree racing wheel for finer inputs.
GT3 is great with a controller, I never had a wheel until GT5 came out and since then I've only been faster with a controller on dirt or snow!!
 
I have the same problem too with the wheel, yet I saw people playing the GT3 fantastically smooth and extremely fast with the steering. Is it a matter of the compatibility between of the wheel and the emulator?
